Moonshot 2.0 Reveals

@sbchamps17_NSW weird choice since he's a Yankee in the 20th Anniversary card (I think).

Are these pitchers going to be like the last moonshot with lower attributes or are these all new 99s?
I'm guessing Commons (64). Interesting to see if Roger will be an Astro or a Blue Jay.
How could he be a blue jay and be a common? He pitched in Toronto 2 years and won cy young awards both seasons. Not to mention winning pitcher triple crowns both years. His Blue Jays card should be a 99 milestone or award card. Maybe next year.

Moonshot cards have very little to do with actual real life stats.
Look at the first moonshot. Nolan Ryan got a common. Tom Seaver got a common. Corey Kluber got a common for a team he only pitched 1/3rd of an inning for.

I know there isn't a specific rule book, but how can you give someone a bad card for a team that he was only on for two years and both years he was voted the best pitcher in his league? Moonshot Clemens should be based on his final season in 2007. Nothing else would make too much sense.
The Ryan card is based on his age 24 season which is the only year in his entire career that he had negative WAR other than his retirement campaign when he was like 46.
Kluber is an odd choice considering how he barely pitched for Texas.

True. But we also have a Moonshot Gwynn and Brock...

This exactly.

The final 4 clues.
I got 3 of 4 correct last night and now feel dumb that I chose Martinez over Bautista. I should have known that it was going to be a reliever since Kershaw was a starter.
Also confirms that Holliday will be a Rockie again this year. That's fine. They need cards. I am bummed that this is year 2 of The Cardinals not getting a diamond Holliday card. Last year all we got was a Gold version on release day.
-
It's amazing seeing how many people on twitter/x are getting upset about "Another Kershaw Card", "Another Clemens card", "Another Ubaldo Jimienez card".
Have they not played the game before? Did they not notice the pitcher overalls of the last Moonshot program?
I guess I should not be surprised since people still get upset that Topps now cards are from the previous week or that somebody did not get supercharged on a Sat or Sun.
-
@Jeff7407_PSN I'm pretty sure George W Bush threw more pitches in Texas than Kluber did
-
They did Rickey right but Ozzie Smith with 60 stl and 85 Field is absolutely disrespectful to the man.
Also its hilarious that the 1962 Mets have 2 cards this year and the 86 Mets have 0
-
I am a little upset right now.
They did Ozzie wrong on his fielding. They stuck him behind a collection that I can only finish if I buy a bunch of cards.
Add that to the fact that I will have to pay a fortune for Bob Gibson and most of my desire to play today has evaporated
I can't earn either by simply playing

Yeah, this goes back to the post I made earlier in the week. Its fine for Bob to be an exclusive reward initially, but it shouldnt be locked to online play permanently.
-
They have a tendency to put Cardinals in packs. Both Brock and Winn I believe were in the pack from the first moonshot.
Wasn't Joe Torre a Headliner
Liam Doyle was in a PackUgh, I just looked at the prices for the first round of Moonshot cards.
Ozzie is completely out of reach for me, at least until the market crashes or we are well past the end of the year and prices are cheap.
-
I'm kind of all over the place with how I feel about Moonshot 2.0
Some cards were great, made sense and were well balanced.
Other cards looked like Moonshot 1.0 cards. A lot of power with either slow speed or poor fielding.
Would've liked to have seen more balance and consistency throughout all the cards.Luckily, the only card that I want to chase is that Tim Raines and he's the first collection.
-
WTF SDS
Barry Larkin also got Ozzie'd, but even worse. He has a SIXTY FLD. multiple gold glove winner. 379 SBs. Cant field or run. This isnt a useable Barry larkin, its a DH card for some other guy
-
And endgame Ozzie Smith should have 99 FLD. And end game Tim Raines should have 99 speed. And end game Barry larkin should not have 60 stl.
Its a shame, because parts of the drop are inspired. Ashburn had 1/4 of his career HRs in his one seasonw ith the Mets, so its actually clever the Mets get his moonshot. Aaron as the big reward is fantastic. But there is no reason why they [censored] on some of these legends top card of the year (yet didnt for others)
Like Bagwell may not have been a great fielder, but Bronze? While Pena gets to be silver?
-
@Dolenz_PSN Same man, further solidifying my decision to focus on Borderlands 4. F that collection.
-
I actually cursed when Ashley said Cardinal fans because I was sure they were locking Stan away behind a collection. We still need an updated Stan (inning boss) and Lou Brock.
-
@Dolenz_PSN Wait until this moonshot pack hits the deluxe etc. … Then prices will come down. Your Ozzie is my Rickey and I will not overspend one of my 2.6M stubs

I only have 400K although I could sell a bunch.
I am assuming at least half of that is needed for Gibson.
