No they don't. They have a license deal with the MLB Players Association which does not include retired players.
That is why we have the limited numbers of legends that we do. Believe me they would love to put players like Joe DiMaggio, Rogers Hornsby or Sandy Koufax in the game. They are not just holding back those guys for no reason.

Ichiro has deal with Power Pro Baseball in Japan; legally speaking, we won't see him in the show this year.

@davisonkj17_PSN WTF? Why in the world would they release content at Midnight EST on a Sunday night? Newsflash... they won't because there will be pay packs in which they need a lot of USA market players on for $$.

Dolenz suggested in the other thread it could be because MLB doesnt want the cards released before, they do have the plaques on them if they stick with that card type. Makes sense to me.
Better Sunday afternoon than Tuesday, but they should have had a retro HoF program with the inning drop.

Something going on with the Japanese players.
They couldn’t show the Ohtani/Suzuki ASG cards on socials and didn’t show the Lee Giants Color Storm either.

It really is pathetic how the SDS Fanboys defend everything they do. And then more evidence comes out every single week until we now have a mountain of evidence that SDS is going way more for profits than they ever have before.
