I'm not going to argue that Brendan Donovan should be ahead of Ketel Marte but am a little concerned that he is 4th in the NL 2B voting. I think there is little doubt that he will be the Cardinal's lone representative. What these pictures show is how large markets pretty much dominate the vote
- Ketel Marte, D-backs: 850,572
- Tommy Edman, Dodgers: 510,451
- Nico Hoerner, Cubs: 354,745
- Brendan Donovan, Cardinals: 326,787
- Jeff McNeil, Mets: 320,850
No way, in my biased opinion, Donovan should be behind Edman or Hoerner but they are on big market teams.
Among qualifying NL 2B (Marte has not plyed enough to qualify) Donovan leads the league in
- BA - .323
- OBP - .388
- SLG - .451
- wOBA - .368
- wRC+ - 139
- Offensive Score (on fangraphs) - 14.2 (nearest competition is at 8.0)
- WAR - 2.4
- Hits - 83
- Doubles 21
He has the third highest BA in the NL behind Freeman and Smith who are top vote getters at their positions.
-
I know he started really hot but is Goldschmidt the best AL 1B (Yankees bias aside)?
-
Starters unfortunately don't always have to do with who is the best. But Goldy is 3rd among AL 1B with a .329 average and 5th in WAR.
Ryan O'Hearn is ahead of him in both categories but is the leading vote getter for DH
So Goldy is currently up there.

Sadly, All Star voting should be taken away from fans because they regularly get it wrong. Trout certainly doesn’t belong on this list and neither does Teo.
-
Well, the phils had 2 guys(non pitchers) deserving of going, Trea despite having an incredible season is so far down the list he has almost no chance, and Schwarbs should be Ohtanis backup at DH but thanks to @#$$$&# he most likely isn't going either, needless to say I really dislike the red Sox and giants right now
-
I think Jeremy Pena deserves it over Jacob Wilson. It's close enough to have hope for it as long as Pena keeps playing well and Wilson's BA starts to go down.

They probably both are going.

Pete Alonso behind Freeman is flipping criminal.
-
He should be banned after his shenanigans last year. Cost Lindor an ASG appearance all so he could fail miserably again in the HRD.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN
I think Teo belongs there, Id see anything wrong with that -
@TheBigPapa55_PSN Just off the top of my head, Carroll, Soto and Wood definitely deserve it more. When I looked at the stats there were at least a few more that are more deserving.

New Update.. The Only major changes are
Vlad Jr passed Goldy for AL 1B
Javier Baez has passed Mike Trout for the 3rd AL OF spotNo changes at all in the leaders for the NL.
Of course I was disappointed to see Donovan get passed by Jeff McNeil and fall to 5th in the 2B voting.

Looking at this, I have teams completed with their Allstar voucher but dont see their respective players.
Will each team get a player or will those vouchers become useless -
I call shenanigans on the Jacob Wilson total.
There've only been 408,344 people attending A's games this year. You're telling me every single person (plus another 150,000 fans in a fan base that literally doesn't exist) voted for this guy?!?
-
@SaveFarris_PSN Some people actually vote for the players who deserve it. You act like every one of those votes is an A’s fan.
-
I'm acting as though there are no A's fans. Because there aren't.
Their attendance would only average 4th ... in the SEC.
