Pete Alonso

Pete Alonso is practically the best hitter in baseball and he's only an 85. Dude is super clutch. I believe he deserves a little more respect in the game. I mean he is out performing Juan Soto in every category. Hopefully he gets a well deserved boost at least 89 or even 90 LS.
-
Hes a career .250 hitter though, and his last two years were his worst for that.
And he was actually pretty awful in May, so I can forgive SDS on this one.Not being the April lightning, or even the program capper, was a disgrace though. they did him dirty
-
Pete isn't even the best hitter in his city.
-
What kind of crack are they selling up in NY now? Alonso was lucky to get bumped up to diamond in the first major update, he was dreadful the last two years. Cried until he got his way and stole the AS spot away from Lindor and then choked in the HRD. He’s right where he should be, teetering between diamond and gold.
-
He should definitely be back down to gold after the Attributes update on Friday
-
"Best hitter in baseball" Judge is hitting .396 w/ 24 HR

to be fair: Per offensive WAR he is #2 in the NL (behind Shohei) and even with Tucker. I would like to have these posts be more accurate before calling someone the best
He is an 85, because he is/was not that good of a fielder (could change) … but looking at the marketing, he will probably be more than an 85 come friday
-
His vs Rs and clutch absolutely need to come up.
vs Ls should come down a littleI would assume hell be 86 or 87
-
@sbchamps17_NSW Might want to look at what he’s done since the last update. I’d bet he’s more likely to go up than down.

Live series cards are always a combination of the last 3 seasons (if they’ve played that many). Last season he wasn’t great and hit .240, and the year before he hit .217 despite a lot of homers and RBIs. Also his fielding isn’t excellent by any means. He was a gold card for a while, so he’s definitely gone up.

I like this, for all the talk about Ohtani , Judge has a lot more "Ruthian" type stats.

@Rubbaneck34_XBL
It’s mainly because they keep his defense low because SDS has never actually seen him play -
Maybe Peterson at least has finally earned a card now....
But probably not

@davisonkj17_PSN True that! His defense at first has improved dramatically. He does have issues throwing the ball but he saves so many throwing errors with sick pick ups. He deserves respect. Everyone that says otherwise hates the Mets for some reason. They are extremely exciting again. They're in first place for a reason. Judge is great but he's in the American league and I'm not comparing Alonso to Judge or Ohtani.

He is still an average at best fielder
His situation is similar to Olson a couple years back, started a gold and climbed through the diamond ranks over the year

I think they may have changed the formula some. I have no proof but it seems like now they base the initial, beginning of the year ratings on their 3 year average, then upgrade or downgrade from there based on the current season.
Why do I think that? Mainly because some of the jumps from update to update are too large. Did Freddie Freeman really perform so well over a 3 week period that he jumped his overall by 3 points? Did Nathan Eovaldi really jump 3 overall spots based on 4 or 5 starts between update periods?
Even if the current season is weighted 50% it is hard to see such a small sample size swing the attributes by such large margins. I mean Freeman got a +14 on CON L.

Alonso may deserve his 98 durability but he should be -20 to pitcher durability.....
