Xp Path Math

To be fair, they want us playing the programs or online. They’ve significantly increased reward XP in those areas and made it appeal to both online and offline users. I’ve made the switch to completing them and playing casually I can get most of the path completed.
The issue however and to your point is that I can’t seem to just enjoy playing a few games with my team against CPU without falling behind in programs, unless I construct my team to complete and don’t use my favorite players.
I think at this point it’s a “grab the favorite players you have access to” and enjoy for the older, casual crowd. I am happy with SDS for giving a pretty decent amount of star players to use that are easy to get, unlike other years where I felt like all the best were behind paywalls or collections. Anyway, I see and even echo your comment to a degree but this isn’t an old dogs game, it’s for the kids/streamers.

Yeah...for last year's release they very quietly cut game-earned XP in half...so now when we do "double XP" it's really only the normal/former normal amount. When I'd play a game vs the CPU and you'd win like 12 or 14-1...it used to be at least 3500 xp...now if you're lucky it's maybe 1600-1700.

The XP is down but they hand out like 20,000 XP for completing a quick program. Sometimes more than that. I think I got 15,000 XP last night just for final stage of rivalry week program, and that doesn't even count all the XP along that reward path. I feel like doing the math down to the inning is just trying to find something to gripe about.

I'm about to complete the path and there's still like 14 days left.
So really casual gamers won't complete it, but the vast majority shouldn't have a problem.
True. At the half mark I am 50% done and I did not play as much as the previous innings. Basing this thread on gameplay xp is one way but not the most significant one. They are giving out tons of xp via programs and especially the new mini season @ShadowJake77_XBL

Just seems like they are trying to chase some of their older game base away.
I'm sure they're doing things to try to attract a younger audience. But anyone who tried to actively repel part of the game base would be immediately fired. That's how private business works.

I have a feeling there is going to be a ton of extra XP come noon (Pacific) today.
The first inning there was too. The 2nd inning lagged a bit.
The 1st inning I ended up with 1,149,088 XP
The 2nd inning I ended up with 876,183 XP
The 3rd inning, I just passed the 2nd Boss pack so in line with 2nd Inning so far.But I have a feeling there is going to be a lot of non gameplay XP available this afternoon.

The Multiplayer reward path thankfully throws a buncha XP chinks I usually use for my final stretch of the inning path. This new Moonshot Mini-season XP rewards was a nice bump too. Sucks those seasons are so grueling to complete, but oh well.

@Busta-21_XBL Yeah there is a lot of XP in the mini seasons and I haven't even played one since the first inning program. I need to mix one of those in once I am finished with all the TA strikeout missions for each team. Down to two remaining but its the Dbacks and Angels so will take a couple days. At that point who I am pitching won't matter so I can set a rotation and play some mini seasons.
-
Yeah, I have not been overly motivated to do the stat grinds (especially specific teams) on programs so I have not done a lot of them, therefore I am way, way behind on the XP path.
How bad is bad? I am at 45.5K. Just another 200K for a boss pack.
But honestly it is because I don't seem to be playing as much. I jumped on last night played 1 conquest game on veteran, wound up in a 0-0 extra inning game and called it a night when I finished it. That happens entirely too often this year, far more than any previous year.

@Dolenz_PSN I am definitely not having as much fun playing actual games as I have in the past. The changes they've made to CPU pitching have really taken a lot of the fun away for this offline/casual DD player. I don't play low level difficulty vs the CPU to sit and watch 50% of the pitches be balls but it is what it is. Yet, I still play a lot because I enjoy the grind of TA.

I kind of prefer having so much XP in the various programs. It at least mixes things up a bit and I find it more enjoyable to jump around completing various missions/programs over just mindlessly beating up on the CPU in 20-0 games with my god squad. I'm sitting at 402k in the current inning and have had no issue getting to the wheel spins in the first 2 innings, so as an older casual gamer that has a life outside this game to, I do not feel like I'm being phased out at all. In fact I think it's easier than ever to complete the inning programs as long as you are willing to play the other various programs available.

If you play ~5-7 hours per week, while rotating players around, you should be able to:
Complete all conquest maps
Complete the inning's mini season
Earn a good chunk of program xp along the way
Get a high reward/time spent because you arent wasting your time in vs CPU modeThat will probably get you the second boss pack, but not spinning the wheel. Spinning the wheel without the 7500 stub space and with the low value deluxe packs is lackluster anyway
