Do RBI hold as much weight as in the past no. But to say no one gives them weight is ludicrous. They have plenty of value in the industry.

. He is one of my favourite players, he is a good hitter … but he did the same (good) in every situation in this sports with statistic measurements …
And RBI is a measurement on opportunities, not skill … Sad I had to tell you that. Did you know, that in my country, Baseball is not even close to being a national pasttime ? -

If that is your worst drop, you never looked at the other drop (from either this year‘s drops or last year). They are free cards, 90% never makes it to the god squads … This drop is all around the lightning guys

But let‘s talk about something else I find very interesting.
Weekend-Classics is coming and they exactly dropped this very hard collection.
Last Weekend-Classics, they dropped Randy right before in the Chase Pack.Like it or not (I tend to be on the „not“-side
) both were awesome moves … for SDS and „the players“. Want that card bad? Go ahead and think how you spend your stubs -
I like the program. I enjoy challenging (but not absurd) stat grinds. And no showdown!
I do wish we could use some of the cheesy parks in play vs cpu like we could last year. Oh well. This will keep me busy through the weekend. And Corbin is my favorite player, so I’m happy to grind for that card. People love complaining. This is fine for April.
(But please bring back repeatable CQ maps!)

@chrisham8380_PSN exactly, someone HAS to, and it’s mainly a function of opportunities (situational ABs volume) and teammates ability to get on base before you than individual performance. Even avg with RISP is dependent on BABIP which can fluctuate wildly year to year; you can get a single with Big Papi on 2B and not get an RBI.
A good example is Trout who was considered the GOAT for an 8 year or so period. Led the league in runs 5 times but RBIs only once.
It’s not a useless stat, but is not as important as old school types make it out to be.

I think it is kind of a useless stat… as its critics point out (not an o thought in my part), it doesn’t even measure what it sets out to measure particularly well.
An example that was given: one out, runner on first. A batter singles down the right field line, advancing the runner to third. Next batter flies out, and the runner tags and scores… who played a bigger part in creating that run? The guy who got the RBI did nothing exceptional or noteworthy, and his fly ball out, which would have been just one of 27 other outs, now credits him with an RBI… not exactly a “clutch” move, and far less important than the batter who moved the eventual run to third.

I earned the Weaver spotlight card but it won’t appear when I try to put him in the rotation. I see the card everywhere else. Ideas?

@SalmanHOF_NSW You either are looking in the wrong place (SPs instead of RP/CP) or you have another one of his cards (LS version) as a RP/CP in the 'pen already.

I completely agree with you. I was completely shocked he never got 1 card. The disrespect the Giants had all month with “spotlight” cards is inexcusable. All we got was a Yaz card for a walk off HR? Seriously?
All SDS cares about is HRs. But no, give one to guys with HALF the amount of RBIs Flores did… cough HOSKINS, SANTANA, GRISHAM, CRUZ, EYC. cough Give me a [censored] break. SDS is so clueless and out of touch it’s absurd.

Hoskins had 4 HRs and he got a card… Flores had twice as much RBIs as some of the guys who got cards. SDS just pulls names out of their [censored] asses every time someone hits a HR and gives them a card apparently.

@trfatboy22_PSN, maybe when you’re a little older you’ll understand that confidence is a poor substitute for knowledge.
Some advice: read up on the Dunning-Kruger effect, and sit with the concept a while… ruminate on it.
