The significance of Ted Williams military service is he actually flew active combat missions in two different wars as a marine in the middle of being one of the greatest hitters of all time. If they continue “storylines”, this would be quite significant.
I also think a storyline involving the very first Hall of Fame class would be really cool.
Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, Walter Johnson, Christy Mathewson, and Honus Wagner. They gave up rights to two of them last year.

What does the war have anything to do with baseball storylines

I think that would make a great storyline for MLB 25. And I love the HOF suggestion, too. Or maybe something about the first or an early World Series. There are many places they can go.

Yeah no war has nothing to do with baseball

Check out the history of baseball during war times. Between players barnstorming in WW1 to avoid it to superstars pausing their career to fight in WW2, there are a ton of stories that link war and baseball.

So you're looking for a 1942-style minigame for Storylines?!?

Why is the Jeter storyline viable but not a Ted Williams war storyline? I think it's a great idea.

If he's back in the game, they could very well do a Storyline revolving around Ted Williams and while I can see them mentioning his wartime service as it definitely deserves recognition, it isn't going to be the central point for obvious reasons.
That mode is about reliving specific moments on the field. Hitting and pitching. You can despise the Yankees all you want, but Jeter is a big name who played in a lot of big games and got some big hits so it makes sense he got a program.

Also … do not forget that the majority of players are „younger players“. The maybe do not know exactly, who Ted W is in the first place … Total different case on Jeter (although it is a shame, comparing Jeter to Ted )

Exactly. Jeter isn't Ted Williams, but Ted Williams also isn't Jeter when it comes to marketing a game to your core consumer base. Jeter has been retired for a decade now so there is a new generation of fans who never even saw him play, but he is still relevant and marketable which is what matters most with these annual sports games.
A program dedicated to Ted Williams? Absolutely. But one that just focuses on his war efforts? Who are you appealing to exactly?

I'll take former The Show Legends, Jimmie Foxx, Ted Williams, Ty Cobb, Rogers Hornsby, Yogi Berra, A-Rod, Troy Tulowitzki, Carlton Fisk, Walter Johnson.

A. Anything half-way realistic on the war front threatens the E-rating.
B. Game is sold worldwide. I know there aren't as many German and Japanese purchasers, but however many they do have aren't going to want to buy a game where they're depicted losing a war.
C. A Williams war storyline works great in Call of Duty. MLB The Show, not so much. -
You missed Turk Wendell. #1 player they need to add for 2025.
Should be cheap too, just buy the dude some licorice
