Where’s an honor to Pete Rose?!?!
-
What a disgrace San Diego studio scheezers. I’ll never buy this game again after the disrespect to the history of baseball.
-
@mrCpops_PSN How are they going to honor a guy they don’t have the rights to? Honest question.

It is not just about rights.
They have an MLB license and must abide by MLB's rules.
But go ahead and blame them for something that is out of their control.
-
The Rose family has to also give his name up even if MLB The Show wanted him in th game. On top of that, I really don't like the idea of game companies immediately making cards and playable versions of real life people that just died. It's like profiting off of their death and families misfortune. Sure that's not what the intent is but all the same happens in the end.
I still don't like when SDS does it today. It feels soulless to me. If they cared about Rose he would have been in the game ages ago. -
Hey Siri, what does banned by mlb mean?
-
@AdeptOfMemory He won't be in the game at all, doesn't matter if they get his rights from his family. Banned from baseball means you aren't in the game ever, he tried to appeal multiple times but got denied every time

In Pete's honor, Ramone placed a parlay at Del Mar this afternoon.
Ironically, it didn't hit.

It says you tagged me but I never got an alert.
Anywho, that's fine and makes sense but I do believe my point still stands. If the ban was ever lifted that doesn't guarantee he would ever been in the game. They would likely only ever lift this ban to put him in HoF. -
Define Irony - Shout at SDS for "Disrespect to the history of baseball" while talking about a guy that disrespected the game.

How did he disrespect the game? The only problem was that he didn't have a translator.
-
Really seriously enough already, Pete Rose was caught betting on baseball when he was still playing hence why he's banned for life, he will never be in the hall of fame and yes he did disrespect the game

I would only quibble with the highlighted part. Rose was placed on the "permanently ineligible" list, so his lifespan is irrelevant to the punishment length.
Otherwise, Fact Check True.

Given how negatively gambling can impact sports you have to make strong examples out of these guys. He was betting on the outcomes of games he was directly involved in. To me, that demonstrates he was sometimes manipulating the games he managed. In any sport, not just baseball, that person would be banned for life. I recognize Rose was an amazing player, but he brought this on himself

Again, thank the Lord Ippei took the fall.

He was betting his team would win! "Boy, there's even MORE on the line for me. Better play harder!" What an influence on the game huh??
I will continue to thank Ippei for his sacrifice.
-
Ironic that MLB allowed Las Vegas to take the A's.

Except for the days where he DIDN'T bet on them to win. Did he try harder then too?

@SaveFarris_PSN
You're gonna need to sauce this information for me because last I checked he was betting for his teams to win especially playoff games.
I'm an old timer when it comes to rose and join the guys that defend him. The man was a bit crazy and did questionable things. I'm not defending his morals and outside of the sport actions. I'm only arguing on the point his bets were for his team to WIN.
They investigated Shohei for a solid 10 minutes and his translator folded. Shohei speaks English. The entire argument to defend shohei is "he's to stupid to gamble and manage his finances." That's ridiculous. It's because he makes the MLB millions upon millions of dollars and banning him to the same degree would absolutely decimate the MLB.
Rose was white american and didn't have a translator. What a shame. -
