I don't think that's his point though....it's a gameplay kind of point. Trout would still likely be a 2k card in the marketplace even if he was a silver.

The ratings take into account a player's last 3 years and Trout's 2022 is still giving him a massive boost. However, once that falls off, his last 2 years he's averaged a 133 OPS+. That puts him in the same company with Francisco Lindor, Jarren Duran, and Riley Greene.
Gold wouldn't necessarily be out of the question, but Silver definitely would be.

My guess is that if he had continued to play as he did at the beginning of the season then he would have fallen in the 80s. He was only active for the very first update. His attributes took a hit but his overall did not. Then he was hurt and his overall was locked at that point.
The most they could have done is given him the Jazz Chisholm treatment when he was the cover athlete, which was basically just to skip over him on every update to maintain his diamond status.

Why does anyone care about the LS this year? There is only 1 card worth the trouble- Babe. And while I’m sure it’s a great card, SDS really made a bad move with this collection as a whole. 95s for a collecting a whole league? And No division collections?
I have finished the LS by May or June every year since I started playing this game but have no interest this year. To each their own, just seems like a waste of stubs to me.

I've personally thought they should something like an immediate -5 OVR if they're out for the season. EG 94 gets downgraded to 89, 89 to 84 etc.

Normally, I would agree with you BUT the core Babe reward with 125 across the board for hitting attributes has been absolute fire.
