DD obituary.

For pretty much every new content drop since 2020, I'd jump right in and grind for a few hours. Today, I watched the stream, shook my head a few times, then turned it off. Went out for Mexican food with the wife and friends. Listened to a local band. Came home and watched a movie... And, I'm turning in early.
I'll play. But this will be the first time in my DD career that I don't earn the big cards. I just don't care. A big disappointment.
Right there with you, @Blind_Bleeder_PSN

I played a bit after the drop. I’m not a fan either. My wife has given me permission to attend the funeral and walk away. I don’t know if I’ll be able to, but it wasn’t difficult to turn it off this afternoon to go walk around Costco. She said I could find a new game. I’m thinking I’ll try the ncaa football game, but honestly, if all sports games have this structure, I don’t see the point in that either.
I’m not saying I’ll leave the game alone, but I’m certainly not in a hurry to turn it back on. This makes me sad because I’ve loved this game for so long.
Wow. Surprised to see this. You've helped alot of people here.
-
I agree. I’m not in a rush to play it when I get home anymore. Probably strictly RTTS or franchise.

Dang! when SDS gets guys like me and blind - who for years have been accused of being SDS Fanboys - to turn as well, then you know they really s**t the bed!

Um, I am not a fan of todays content launch at all but I honestly don't know what some people expected. They were never going to change the overall structure mid release no matter how much people complained.
yes they plan this in the offseason but the original plan I CAN SEE NOW was total doo-doo!
I really don't pay attention to all the machinations of SDS and this game. I just use to like the content and then just play. All the negativity was just noise to me.
But the people here who posted concerns about seasons from day 1 release, they were right. For someone like me, it was just more noise until I started up the game today and was like MOTHER-FATHER! THESE GUYS WERE 100 PERCENT RIGHT! I NOW SEE what they were warning us about!
And on the stream today they started off talking about listening to all the feedback from the community? Which community? I only follow this game here on these forums and reddit. Not one person likes the direction they have taken this to. Not one! Maybe there's another MLBTS community I'm not part of that was for this.
-
They definitely didn’t listen to the community. The whole “bosses obtainable earlier” thing was deliberately misleading, just using lesser versions of the bosses…which is NOT the same as what they said.
-
Lol y’all probably already playing again.

of course we will, just different modes. I’m gonna keep playing RTTS, maybe dabble in Franchise. S1, and now S2 have really pushed away a lot of players from DD.

The Seasons format does not go with a power creep. They gave us this format last year as a way to roll out "99's Day 1".
Hopefully next year, they keep the power creep, return to their previous "Innings" format, and not have expiring cards!

They without a shadow of a doubt DO listen to the community.
For example:
-Return of conquest maps
-Actual mid week programs coming (although maybe this is only because new season)
-change to millionaire packsHowever its not like they have the power to change everything, ultimately Sony (and possibly MLB) is in control
What IS on SDS though is the lackluster choices for TA cards. Terrible model aside, those cards are not motivating people to play

I still am confused about this. The first actual boss pack is at 900K
Is that not earlier than 1,000,000Plus there is over 200K experience to be earned on day 1 and a 60K head start bonus. If they give better XP rewards in programs this season we will get them earlier. Last season they planned on bosses beginning to be seen in 6 weeks so maybe this time it is 4 weeks.
Maybe it is not early enough for some people. I may never actually get to them myself but I can't honestly look and say they were misleading, at least not this early.

Yikes.
Probably return to FF7 Rebirth, FF16 DLC after that, with a little MLBTS (franchise?) in between soon. I can’t do the same thing over and over with no end game.
Add game modes: RS with theme teams; Super Conquest (9 inning games) for TA or something. Just something new, different or quirky.
I think the best for me would be to pull the plug on the UT formula (worn out) and go back to franchise or RTTS, but those have been neglected for the cash cows. I get it. Doesn’t make it suck less.

I'd rather P5 the entire 2.1 TA drop than ever step foot in Gongaga again

Right there with you. I played for about 30 minutes and decided to mow the lawn. Finished, made some dinner, and watched a movie. I'll play for sure, but in the past I would have played for a few hours at least and been excited to grind. Now I'm just "whatever".
NCAA will be enjoyable for offline because the recruiting and four year progression will keep you going for a long time. Plus the short seasons keep the pace moving. Different game and all, I get it, but that pivot may just be what you need to get the juices flowing.
-
Not only are the TA cards 89, the players chosen suck. I see one card that I want. But knowing that it will be useless in 2 weeks has made me leave this game.

This sums it all up.
