When season 2 starts…this is gonna be rough

It's going to blow. I'm not looking forward to starting over. I have around 2.7 million stubs, and soon for the price off 99 marte, sds will be selling us 92 overall pipeline players again. Hard pass on season 2.

In a nutshell, we basically can only use Core cards starting in 2 1/2 weeks? It completely kills any incentive to play these last few weeks of the season. So why make a feature that makes people want to play less?
True the lack of the season overlap is the big difference from last year. I'm sure there will be a big content dump on day 1 of season 2 that will get people jumpstarted in replacing core cards.
It's still going to hurt everyone though, no matter how you play. It might just be the nail in the coffin for me.

It won't hurt me personally. I'm the .01% that kind of likes the soft reset. Doesn't mean it's not a dumb idea though.

I can live with the seasonal restrictions, personally...provided they revert the XP payouts back to previous years amounts. I, like a large portion of the player base, want to feel like I at least have a chance of getting one of the bosses...it royally sucks a$$ knowing you won't get a sniff right from the get go

I agree, since I play the CPU I don't need a God Squad to have fun. In fact I'll have fun using Core cards I like, like Rookie McGwire.
I hope to see something like a Reds Paul O'Neill, which at best would be maybe an 87 OVR.

I just won't be playing ranked for season based game modes. I don't play enough to earn good core cards and I don't pay money for stubs or packs.
Either I just stop playing altogether or just play casual PVP so I can use the cards I saved or worked for.
There's 4-5 expensive cards I grinded and saved for that won't be usable in S2. I don't want to be told I can't use what I paid for in game. I'll play ranked again when the seasons are done and they open all cards back up again. -
For season 2 instead of a 5 pack bundle needs to be something like a new pack like we got in OLD programs ( thinking TA of old past couple years ) of years past where you got a older legends like a silver round choose 1 to 2 / gold round choose 1 to 2 and maybe have a Diamond round ( 86 to 87 ) choose 1 player out of like 3 options

If you want things to change then DON’T play season 2…If nobody participates in this joke then that’s the only way it will change.
-
Make season one collection cards core, I’ll say it again
-
Love it or leave it.
I am looking forward to S2 and enjoy the last days with my S1-godsquad. Both is possible, if you are willing to embrace the change.
As for the TA3-remark: most of uns only use maybe 1/3 of the cards. The others are collection fodder.
Iam looking forward to the decision making and also knowing that my favourite cards will make my team…. Just try to be a little positive

I’m usually a big fan of this game but this seasons model really has no upside.
For me, I guess it all depends on the content. I'm curious to see what TA2 looks like. If it's just "rinse and repeat", I'll play less. It's a shame, because I do enjoy the gameplay (minus the foul-ball extravaganzas).
If SDS is smart, they'll increase the amount of REAL content (Programs, etc.), because that will keep me playing/grinding. I'd love to see some creative Events. I remember when they had a "low-power" event a few years ago, and I loved that. Now every event is just a home-run fest, and the rewards aren't worth it. I haven't found one yet that I wanted to play.
In summary - SDS needs to mix it up for Season 2. Otherwise, I'm worried the player base will shrivel up.

I'm leaning towards not playing Season 2. I already am playing much less. I have not even finished the last 3 Season Awards drops yet.
I just got my first three 99's a few days ago (Ludwick, Nootbaar and Helsley) it cost me more than half of my stubs. Of course I can only carry one of them forward until I find out what it takes to unlock all of the wildcard slots, but I have a feeling, like everything else this year, that those slots won't be easily achievable for us more casual players.

I feel it, man. I feel it. This year's release has been one of the biggest L's I can recall in a long time, and I'm counting the initial let down of NMS in '16

@Sarge1387
That speaks volumes right there. Many long time players have seen the steady decline. Sadly SDS doesn’t seem to care about the long term casual players. They are going for the sweats, streamers and new blood willing to spend or live on the game and shell out money for stubs. It’s the path all sports games inevitably go down. The game is still fun but not like it was and nowhere near as rewarding for time invested into it.

What happened in '16?

@X-FREEZE-OFF-X No Man's Sky
-
@X-FREEZE-OFF-X No Mans Sky was a mega hyped exploration game that ended up sucking major a$$. Kinda like TS 24

It didn't actually suck, but it did fail to deliver on the promises made by the developers which killed the game for many.
It is a much better game now and they have redeemed themselves but it never actually sucked.
-
@AdeptOfMemory
No Mans Sky, the Cyberpunk release disaster comes to mind as well.
Both rebounded strongly, SDS is not capable of that however

Exactly right, which is why I want to emphasize "initial" letdown. @X-FREEZE-OFF-X it was so hyped, and so pumped by its devs. Trailer looked epic, they promised so much...and it just crashed and burned because they got all sorts of preorders and whatnot, and just failed to deliver on so many levels, and that's not even counting the numerous bugs it was released with. As @Dolenz64 said it's a way better game now, but it shouldn't have taken almost 8 years to reach that point
