And our first Lightning Player is Bobby Witt Jr.

Rare SDS W this year

we have to do all 4 season awards drop programs to get him!?!?
How tf am I ever gonna do that playing 3 hours a week? The programs are not that bad. The first one is kind of painful because you don't have cards yet. But once you have done one they get quicker as you can load your Lineup with the players, play a 9 inning rookie CPU game against a team with bad pitching in a hitter friendly park and things go fast.
That said, even as a casual player myself, if your time is that limited you have to be selective about what you try and complete because you can't do everything with limited time.
-
thank you I am about to finish the first and the third program

@K9_21owl
He has a habit of hitting Catchers in the head with his back swing. Will Smith checked him on that last year, and the conversation did not go too well. lol ...Just some friendly banter...Ozuna is a good hitter. -

Just look at the programs closely and make your lineup out smartly. Look at both Topps Missions and General Missions and use that to make out the lineup. That might mean slotting in 3 primary SS players in order to reach a mission goal with them. Choosing a pitcher for a team that it wants you to earn PXP for.
If you don't have the time to commit to brute forcing it then it pays to be as smart about it as possible.

All well and good, but when are we getting a card of his dad?!?
Gold 83 1990 Standout card would be more than warranted.

@SuntLacrimae50 fair point. I just figured with the Ranked seasons cards for round two being in the mid-high 90s (can't recall the kirk rating but I know the two WS ones are 97) I just figured the lightning player would be closer to that.case and point- they just announced a 95 overall pipeline card in the newest headliners pack. Kinda makes a 95 lightning player seem weak imo
-
@BobCarface The stat missions with specific positions can also be accomplished organically through playing once they're the last ones remaining.
-
His Chrisma card last year was a stud I'm all in on this card just in time for me to finish the BR program and move to RS
-
only to be outdone by the 94 Elly they just released in the buyable pack...i swear this company....

I'd rather have Elly than Witt.

It'll be interesting to see how their stats compare. A difference of one overall could be merely a few points off defense for a position of SS. Or their favorite stat to play with - vision.
-
I'm not complaining Witt got the 1st lightning card. But they could have increased his Vision and Clutch to help match the 95 rating. If you do the math, his hitting stats = an 83 rated card......
His fielding = an 81 card.
With 99 speed.
So that 95 rating is a fraud.
This card is realistically an 82 rates gold card.GG'S SDS! WAY TO WATER DOWN THE FK'N LIGHTNING CARDS!
-
The program cards are gonna be frauds most of the year. Look at the cards from the Jackie Robinson program. They juiced stats like bunting. The hitting stats are mediocre.

The Witt card is better.

Witt
113 contact vs R
90 contact vs L
84 pwr vs R
96 Pwr vs L
65 vision
84 clutch
85 fld
99 speed
97 stealElly
98 contact vs R
75 contact vs L
103 pwr vs R
78 Pwr vs L
65 vision
74 clutch
73 fld
99 speed
99 stealSeems like they did not outclass Witt Jr with Elly. Now if you like Elly better then great but overall, based on ratings I take the Witt card every day.

I really wish this program was longer. I loved the old format of POTM. It was the one program you could look forward to every month. Pretty disappointed. Of course there’s another pack that could’ve been added to the program too but I guess we should be used to it now. It doesn’t seem like things are going to change. The card I really want it is that Mason Miller but of course he’s the rare round and I’m not buying packs. He’s like a better version of Rob Dibble.
-
Good god that 94 Ellie card sucks. 75 78 vs left with 74 clutch? no one beyond 400 rating will use him. Those numbers are horrendous. Guess u can make the argument that he's a platoon player at best against righties. Yet he's going for 129k

The program lasts as long as the season...there's more lightening cards coming.

@Dolenz64 I agree Bobby is the better card other than the fact that Elly is a switch hitter and that’s it. You didn’t post that Elly has 59 reaction. That’s terrible lol
