Sure..Especially when I'm hitting a 3 perfects in a game and not a single one of them is a hit..But my opp is making late/okay HRs
Let me guess. In showdown?

Nice flex.
Personally, I don’t see where skill is involved in determining whether an outcome is good squared, good good, perfect, or good ok, but if it makes you feel better about it, sure.
You do by putting the PCI on the ball ?
-
Squaring up the ball on HOF is much harder this year, which is GREAT. However, squaring up the ball still has a nearly random outcome, which is TERRIBLE. I don't mind hitting being hard, when you can practice and get better. If you still have RNG outcomes on good swings, it makes the entire hitting system DISMAL.

I do really like the game overall, but I disagree with this post... MOST people don't like the hitting because bad swings are still being rewarded as much as good swings.
I just played a 15-inning game against a guy that was like 16-4 or something like that, and we both squared up literally dozens of balls all game long and were not rewarded. For example, I was perfect with the PCI off Oswalt several times with FOTF Josh Bell, Eddie Matthews, etc, and wasn't rewarded at all. My opponent was really good, and I'm sure he had the same experience based on how many deep flyouts he had.
How did I end up winning the game in the 15th inning? I hit a walk-off HR with Trevor Story on a fastball that I completely missed (inner PCI not even touching the ball). This is the part of the game that constantly drives me crazy (even when I was lucky enough to win this one).
The better hitter has won every game ive played so far.
Or the worst pitcher took the Big L?

I like the skill gap this year. I'm average, but when I can hang with people with good records, I feel ok with myself. I think pitching doesn't really need to be tweaked. Pitchers like Nolan Ryan will be all over the place. Pitchers with great control, will be effective most of the time.
Lol Roy Oswalt with 99 BB/9 misses over the heart of the plate 5+ times a game for me i dunno wtf youre talking about

In real life, Oswalt didn’t have 99 control and he did miss over the plate more than 5+ per game. It happens.

So now were back to the real life arguement? I thought you wanted a skill gap and user input too matter? Skill gap for hitting but not pitching that doesnt make much sense imo.

My favorite games are the ones where your clearly the better pitcher and kids flailing can’t time a single thing. On the other end ur squaring just off center getting goof goods or just early squared, solid contacts and just out after out. Then you go back to pitching just flailing again then magically just catches a perfect perfect missle for a HR and hangs on for the win. I would have to imagine that it’s directional or analog hitting.

I agree with the OP. I’ve been practicing a lot and can tell when I’m playing someone better or worse than me.
In a close game I agree this game has some funny stuff going on, but you can hit and hit well in this game if you put in the work.

I’ve been a as zoomed as you can player for years. Noticed switching to strikezone two has increased my contact and ball tracking so much more in this game.

You talked about Oswalt with good control and how he misses 5-10% of his pitches. You never mentioned the type of release on the meatball pitches. If it was good release and not perfect, then you'll get a few meatball pitches. Maddux even misses the corners time to time.

Though I have been playing the game 13 years I play Beginner/All-Star. I was playing experienced/all-star and i could not get the bat off my shoulder

I’m 1 for 7 on perfect/perfect so far today. Add in good/squared up and I’m a whopping 3/15. A solid .200 on what should be much higher. Busted city.
