The fact that you cant preload a throw during a double play this year is laughable. If the runner has over 30 speed double plays are pretty much impossible

This has happened to me 4 times straight with gold fielders as soon as you hit the meter and go to throw it to second and try and hit it again to preload it the shortstop just stops throwing the ball. I have to wait for him to actually release the ball this year

This so wrong. I’ve turned quite a few double plays so far.

Are you saying that you can't start the second throw, until the first player actually releases the ball?
In other words, you're activating the "throw cancelling" mechanic instead?
Seem's like basic controls...

This is just wrong, turned more than a few double plays with no issues. Definitely a user input issue.

Do you have throw cancel on? If so, try turning it off.

You have to wait until the fielder releases the ball to the shortstop/2B otherwise it cancels it. Press it too quick and it cancels the throw

@833CH … it is basically the same as last year … But … advice: Go to practice mode, set up a runner on 1st and groundball to SS … and practice it

I've had zero issues turning double plays, and I think fielding is the most balanced it's been for quite some time.

I agree with a previous answer, turn throw cancelling off. As I was reading this post that was the first thing I thought. Turn it off and see if that helps.
