Dumb question - are these overall ratings where these guys start for DD, or for offline modes? I forget...

Offline. They give a "this isn't DD!!" disclaimer every couple of teams or so.

I'm confused by this @SaveFarris because they keep saying these ratings aren't for DD, but they say they are LS cards, which are in DD. The only offline modes not in DD are MTO and Franchise, both of which don't have OVRs on their cards.

Play v Friends(?)I'm a 100% DD guy, so I'm not the best person to ask, but while DD's #s will be different, it gives you a close approximation of players will be ranked relatively speaking.

All of those modes are in DD, so these cards they are talking about can't be used in those modes? I guess there is some terminology I'm not understanding. I'm pretty new to DD, only four years into it. I've played Franchise for years, so I'm still learning about DD.

Live series cards are both offline cards and DD cards. They’re the same exact ratings except for the overall. Take a peak at one right now in 2023. You’ll see they have the same ratings except for the overall.

Is it just me or did they not release all the teams, I like the Phillies but didn't see any of their ratings

They did the Phillies. They talked about Schwarber not being in the top 5.

So, when they talk about DD cards then - they're talking about all the other series' cards besides LS?

So, when they talk about DD cards then - they're talking about all the other series' cards besides LS?
Yeah. Like those 4 cornerstone cards you get to pick one of to start with.

They did the Phillies out of order b/c they were waiting for Hunter Pence to join so he could talk phils/giants.
And I WAS going to go hog wild until they reminded me that these are not the DD ratings you’re looking for.

I realized that after I went back slower, I can't believe that schwarber is only a 79 overall I thought for sure he would have been by higher than that after 2 seasons in a row of 45+ homeruns

I think it's the all power, no contact with a huge whiff rate.

I'm surprised he is a 79 to be honest. The man hit .197 last season so his contact numbers can't be very good. He has also led the league in strike outs two seasons in a row so his Disc rating is also probably very low.
That said, if last year is any indication, they will give him a 99 card each season.
