I was more just joking but if Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez, Tim Lincecum, or Manny Ramirez is one of the collection cards. I’m definitely getting collection done day one.
I’ll probably start with ripping free packs, Seeing what I can build with those packs, do storylines, maybe get started on ranked program, and a little bit of conquest/ta grind.
I’m money spent. I know it’s frowned upon but I love baseball and play the game year round. However due to the sets last year I stopped playing after set 3 pretty much.
Barry Bonds will never be in, but AROD and Manny (along with others) should be in the Hall of Fame. Baseball didn't want to put an asterisk next to a period so they crucified a group of players. Hopefully, one day they get in and MLB gets the rights by default.
We never thought Sosa or McGwire would be in the game either. Maybe one day Barry changes his mind or gets nagged by a family member to give his rights up to SDS so he could be in the game. One could dream.

Sosa & McGwire didn't opt out of MLBPA licensing during their playing careers. Barry did.
I'm not a "Never Say Never" guy (unless the topic is Pete Rose), but it's hard to see a scenario in which Barry finally says 'yes' and joins the Legend Roster.

@SaveFarris I actually think Rose gets in the game sooner than later. The world just views gambling differently now man and it’s a major part of all these sports games nowadays. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s playable within 5 years.

@fellspointguy The higher silvers, guys that had statistical anomalies for down seasons last year. Like I'd probably lean in to George Springer to have a bit of a bounce back if he starts as a high silver. Or golds like Nolan Arenado, Vladdy Jr who are too good to stay mid gold. Those kinds of guys.

Jazz Chisolm was an 85 Diamond all season - Don't think Vlad Jr is gonna smell gold this year.

He was Reggie Stocker in this game not Jon Dowd. That was his fake MVP Baseball player.

I loved reading through all of this. There are some great ideas here. My journey will begin on Thursday at 9 pm, so I will get my snacks and Reign ready to go beforehand.
Here is my list:
- Open pre-order and Twitch packs
- See where I sit with LS collection, maybe buy a few cards if they aren't too much.
- Sell all dupe cards
- Fill out and revise spreadsheets for '24
- Do Storylines

For me:
1.) Take a look at the teams to see which teams only have golds or lower.
2.) Rip all of the pre-order packs to see if I get lucky and pick gold players from the free packs that correspond to a team with only golds or lower.
3.) Put my best lineup together and get working on the Conquest map. I like knocking that thing out early before the other game modes start bogging me down.
4.) Negro Leagues Storylines
5.) Derek Jeter Storyline- not buy
- check the forum
- read how everyone is feeling on it
- go about my day
- be happy i didn't waste my time or money on the new game

@GixxerRyder750 You're right, and I didn't mean to infer that he WOULD be, I was more suggesting guys who are like that generally too good to be gold for long. My bad for making about as clear as mud there.

That's a given. We should also start a pool to see when the first "I picked the same TA player twice" post hits. I'll go with Friday morning, 11:08 EST.

Not buy and then check the forum -- really? Doomscrolling so you can post "Told ya so!"? If you really don't care, then just do 1, 4, and 5. It's more of a waste of time to not buy and then lurk -- just saying.
