What is the first 5 things you will do when the game drops?

Start filling out spreadsheets.
This is a very @SaveFarris_PSN thing to do. lol
-
@SaveFarris
I got to ask... how do you use those spreadsheets?
-
Originally was to track LS Collection. Over the years, my obsession has morphed to include...
- P1-5 Status & Dates Reached
- LS Collection Page displaying # cards left, how much to acquire, date completed, rewards earned along w/ Division/League Totals. Also used for displaying # of cards left to complete Card Series Collections (Collect 72 All-Stars, etc)
- Transaction Log w/ Flipping Profits
- Login Reward(s) along w/ Daily update of how much earned flipping
- Flashback/Legend database of all non-LS player cards (including when Released, How to Acqure, Set Info, etc)
- Non Player database for all other cards (stadiums, equipment, perks, unis, etc)
- Game Log featuring Mode Played, Box Score, IP, POTG
- Log of all cards earned/pulled
- Ledger sheet showing all LS/non-player cards not "fully paid for". (If I paid 248 for Julio Teheran, I track how much I earn each time I flip him until I hit 248+).

Reds
I remember the Reds being way overpriced for the first few weeks. I think Dibble was the collection reward? That probably had an effect as well.
-
For the first time in years, I'm traveling for work that week. I get back home around 11 EST after being on the West Coast. So... I may be more awake than usual.
- Rip packs
- Sell everything that is overpriced
- Get all my settings right.
- Cobble together a team for the USA map, if that's still a thing.
- Like @SaveFarris said, maybe dip my toe into RS if the rewards are good.
- Offer up my standard response when my wife says "why do you do this to yourself every year?" as I fall asleep early Friday evening watching "Love is Blind"...
"You wouldn't understand".
The WORST part is that because that show now releases once a week, she's moved on to watching the Swedish version. I mean "we've" moved on the watching the Swedish version.

Love this post. It’s usually @arvcpa_MLBTS who creates it.
- Do a quick tour of the interface to find everything.
- Look through all the collections and start making a plan
- Rip packs and cry because I get no LS diamonds. (In 2023, my luck was insanely good). There is no chance that will hold.
- Create my RTTS player and start working on my first pathway.
- Check out storylines, cry like a baby at the beautiful stories and complete the one for Josh Gibson.
I know two of these technically aren’t DD but they help advance DD.
-
Buy stubs, complete collection, ranked seasons
-
@Atomic_Duckii
Do you complete the collection day 1? If not, what is your goal. Are you no or limited money spent? After looking it over a bit, the Dodgers will be very pricey. I expect that collection reward to be an amazing one.

If there was ever a year to have a surprise Kaufax...

@fellspointguy
I was more just joking but if Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez, Tim Lincecum, or Manny Ramirez is one of the collection cards. I’m definitely getting collection done day one.
I’ll probably start with ripping free packs, Seeing what I can build with those packs, do storylines, maybe get started on ranked program, and a little bit of conquest/ta grind.
I’m money spent. I know it’s frowned upon but I love baseball and play the game year round. However due to the sets last year I stopped playing after set 3 pretty much.

Barry Bonds will never be in, but AROD and Manny (along with others) should be in the Hall of Fame. Baseball didn't want to put an asterisk next to a period so they crucified a group of players. Hopefully, one day they get in and MLB gets the rights by default.

We never thought Sosa or McGwire would be in the game either. Maybe one day Barry changes his mind or gets nagged by a family member to give his rights up to SDS so he could be in the game. One could dream.

Invest invest invest. And because I build custom stadiums for my DD teams...use the creator and see what we've got to work with there

@Sarge1387
Where do you focus your investments early in the game cycle and how do they change as time goes on? Just curious

Sosa & McGwire didn't opt out of MLBPA licensing during their playing careers. Barry did.
I'm not a "Never Say Never" guy (unless the topic is Pete Rose), but it's hard to see a scenario in which Barry finally says 'yes' and joins the Legend Roster.
-
@SaveFarris I actually think Rose gets in the game sooner than later. The world just views gambling differently now man and it’s a major part of all these sports games nowadays. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s playable within 5 years.

@fellspointguy The higher silvers, guys that had statistical anomalies for down seasons last year. Like I'd probably lean in to George Springer to have a bit of a bounce back if he starts as a high silver. Or golds like Nolan Arenado, Vladdy Jr who are too good to stay mid gold. Those kinds of guys.
-
- road to the show
- start or continue my franchise
I'm not much for diomond dynasty and yet I have a 99 overall team in 23.

Jazz Chisolm was an 85 Diamond all season - Don't think Vlad Jr is gonna smell gold this year.
