Jerks That Taunt
-
The developers need to find a way to stop the in-game taunting that ruins the experience for folks who just want to play a sim baseball game without having to deal with with juvenile punks who are weirdly aroused by taunting opponents. Perhaps they can't get a date so they get off being jerks during gameplay. It's dumb and a ridiculous waste of time that makes the game less enjoyable.

@MLB_Baseball_Fan Can you be more specific? You can not allow people to message you. Is that what you are referring to or something else?
-
For a rebuttal, here's noted philosopher Randall Hill:
-
It's literally just spamming the bunt button lol. If it gets you that mad just plunk them and quit
-
I’m assuming you’re talking about people replaying their homers…SDS added that feature a few years back so taunting is encouraged.
I don’t taunt personally but those that do have SDS’s blessing quite honestly.
-
These things are easily fixed if that’s what OP is talking about. Put a limit on it. One replay per game and you can only square to bunt 3 times per AB or something like that.
-
I just want the pause timer to be a real countdown, not one that restarts haha.
-
That is why i stop playing online so much because of the bunt dancing, the non stop pausing, the quick pitching, the side stepping, taking forever to pitch, dashboard etc. Its like come on man I just busted my [censored] all day at work to come home and play some baseball. The cpu has more respect for me than people online do LOL
-
It is frustrating when the game first starts and the literal first thing the opponent does is pause the game. Then they hold R2, bunt dance, pause, bunt dance and then step out of the batters box EVERY at bat. I started countering this by banking as much pause time as possible and in the third inning when they do any of the aforementioned antics, I pause for 10 seconds then repeat until they stop or in some cases, quit.

This whole scenario feels like road rage without the satisfying bit of violence at the end

The issue with not playing online in my opinion is you’re not putting yourself up against live competition. Man versus man, as baseball was meant to be. Beating the computer is just not the same nor can it give the same satisfaction as beating a human opponent.
Most people probably can’t stand some of the online stupidity and immaturity but I don’t let it get to me when it happens. Baseball is a game of mental fortitude. There is no room for weakness.
If a guy wants to pull that repeated bunt nonsense, I just take forever to pitch every single pitch until it stops. It usually does. But if it starts up again, so do long pauses between pitches. Fight fire with fire.
And if an opponent runs a video of a homer, don’t think of it as taunting, just assume they’re proud and admiring their success. You simply can’t let anyone get under your skin, especially over something so trivial.

Instead you have drunk/high adult versus 8 year old kid who’s adhd meds are wearing off
-
They should also get rid of the stupid sound effects
-
@Luckygiodom I’m in total agreement with this!!!
-
@IrishFist412 exactly! SDS encourages taunting with the replays. I agree. It is hands down the dumbest feature. That and no balks. I know I’m in the minority on balks but I don’t care.
-
I had a guy the other day replay his homerun, it gave him a 1-0 lead then I struck out his next 3 batters and he quit. I definitely agree that the constant homerun replaying is annoying and needs to be removed
-
Replaying is taunting? You aren‘t serious !!! I am loughing at everybody who thinks that it is. Sometimes I replay HR, because it was either an awesome AB of mine or some special moment that I gladly enjoy again. To me it is not about my opponent but if he thinks it is, it is his problem
-
@YOSHI24 you sir, are completely full of shiiiiit. If it was a great at bat that you wish to enjoy by taking another look at it, I completely understand that. You certainly have the option to record and save the last minute of gameplay (or however much you wish to record) and can enjoy it as much as you want privately. Enjoy the rest of your day sir!

Ah, someone that wasn't around the long long ago, before the days of the internets.
I like playing with and against others, but not on sports games. I want to say GG to my opponent, problem with that is opens me up to people that shouldn't be allowed to message others. I want to play a sportsman that graciously wins or loses. Not someone that's stealing second when up by ten in the ninth. I don't mind losing, half the people playing lose every time. I mind the kid that learned a cheat from YouTube and exploits it time and time again. In sports games, the human factor is the problem.
Sounds to me like your defending yourself by saying it's alright. I play to enjoy my time, to relax, not get frustrated by other players that have no respect for the game. I did play before online gaming. I'm used to playing the same thing over and over again. If I get bored, there's always several other games I can play. Don't need the aggravation. So I'll keep playing the computer.

You are one of my favorites on here. Thank you for this. Hilarious!
