If I gotta Kick a ball to the first baseman w/ Paul O'Neill...I quit.

I hope they make a few very minor and simple adjustments that would stand to make these more palatable. I’m not talking about the writing either because it’s solid. What I’m talking about is not having to go thru the same sequences each and every time that you fail a moment and have to replay it.
If there was anything that made me exit these great moments prematurely it was that it was sooo sluggish when trying to restart a moment. Things like popping out during your last AB and having to wait while the RF tries to get the tagging runner and so on especially on the ones where you only get a single AB in the first place. It adds about thirty seconds to the whole sequence by the time you wait for that then restart the moment and have to wait for the flyby animation of the player taking a knee in the OF before you can begin.
These things need to be fast paced so you can try and maintain a rythym and if you watch people’s tendencies people get bored quickly when they have to wait. Who hasn’t seen someone bunt dance while they wait for a pitch or bounce their pci all over the screen waiting for a pitch. Slow is painful and painful isn’t fun.
Also why can’t you exit the moment from ANY point once you know that you’ve lost instead of trying to time the precise moment the OF releases the ball to you can gain the precious nanoseconds that you can glean by this instead of having to wait. You should be able to restart a moment even if the balls still in the air if you so choose.
I don’t feel like that’s asking too much but I do feel it would make it much more digestible for us players especially when you’ve got ten minutes already invested in the moment

I liked the format from last night, but it was probably twice as long as it could have been. Too many redundancies … and overall: a little boring
Thanks for the feedback.
We are experimenting with allowing the staff members who work on these features and modes to talk about it in depth and at their pace. We are still dialing things in, as we also don't just want to have a bullet list. It is a process, and we are still learning with this experiment. Also looking back at our old dev streams (like 17, 18, 19) we would spend just a long due to fumbling around trying to show something off. So we have always had long streams/episodes.

@beanball0571 Completing the Negro League Storylines was far from a grind. You could unlock every card in one session. It was easy. It was more about educating people about the stories I think. Because I could not believe what I was seeing and hearing going through some of those stories. I had to look things up to be sure that it was actually true. I thought it was fantastic!

Thanks … for replying and trying things out. I am fine with the old/new approach and giving guys time „in the spotlight“ … just a little shortened and maybe 1-2 more spoilers

The Negro Leagues mode last year wasn't that much of a time grind at all - especially when compared to the constant TA slog - and was a fun/informative experience overall. One of the more enjoyable experiences from The Show 23 in my opinion.
However, the problem was definitely in the overall DD layout. Nobody is going to grind for a bunch of relatively unknown 90 overalls when you had superstar 99s available at the jump.

Please add subtitle to Derek Jeter & Nergo League storylines. Last year, Nergo League storyline was great but couldn't understand without subtitles. Some customers are deaf and depends on subtitles.
Thanks.

Yes, valid point. But … in the early game … A squad of the 90s Neagro League Ballplayers with the captain squad, filled up with other nice cards was a real good one. The sole purpose of storylines was not only getting cards to go into ranked …

I don't even play online, but that was definitely the consensus from most people. What you said about the Captain boost is legitimate although even with that perk it was still not as appealing as it should have been given how easy it was to assemble a God squad very early on. In any other title, the Negro League players would have been very relevant for several months into the game cycle.
-
@SakAttack87_PSN Yes, they had them too low … I did not see many people using 90 players with the Buck-Boost, which was the most significant boost early on. I used the team quite often

Thank you for this. I like the different devs telling their views. May I suggest giving a time limit. Time limits can be adjusted after the fact, and can make the speaker more succinct. Once upon a time, I used to organize presentations. Not a very good fairy tale, I know. At least it's short.

Can we download this story mode in MLB 23. I got the Derek Jeter version.
-
No, it'll only be in mlb 24

As we experiment, we will learn. Editing can always be tough as we want to allow stories and information to come across naturally. As I mentioned before, we have had short streams with not enough detail and we have had long streams with too much. So finding that happy medium is important. Now a bigger question is what medium and series fits best as some fans may enjoy hearing more about the development process and decisions of the team, while others just want to know what Legends are coming. Bite size, short form, long form, streams, pre-recorded, or audio podcast. Some of these we do now, but all of these are options.
One thing we were testing with the last was a more focused questions and answers to flow smoother. Now were those the right question, happy to listen to feedback.
