I saw something about the PS5 would have a code but the XBOX wouldnt?
There was small print at the bottom that said the XBox version would have a disc. Also, the Negro League edition is only for XBox X and PS5.

So long as they don't jettison last gen, this game will always be held back. This will probably be the first year in many years that I don't buy...
-
PS5 install base is around 50 million.
PS4 install base is around 120 million.Until PS4 usage drops significantly, we're stuck with the current deployment strategy.
-
Waiting on the DD stream to order. But I'll probably go the Dig Deluxe version.
-
I agree that it’s nice but I’m fine with the digital deluxe myself personally. I could care less for the hats this game puts out and have no use for a case. What would be even nicer would be if some of that extra $25 bucks went towards the Negro League Museum.
-
Hats and steel aren't cheap. You could also make the donation direct.

all print at
since i have the Series S i have no need for the disc

I get that not everyone is interested in the steel box or hat, and that's okay. Personally, I want the steel box (don't really care about the hat, but it will go into my collection). I have the Jackie Robinson one, and this will be a fine addition to my game library (even if it is only for looks).
They are giving $1 to the museum for every NL edition sold, so that is something, but a direct donation would absolutely be better. And, just because someone is buying this edition of the game doesn't mean they can't donate directly as well.
I'm bummed we aren't able to preorder the NL edition yet. None of the sites are offering it. I'll keep my eyes peeled though. (Unless someone has figured out how, then please share).

@Blind_Bleeder
It’s available on PS5 from PlayStation Direct currently. Doesn’t look like any actual retailers have it yet though.

The Negro League edition with the steel book doesn’t activate a store link from theshow.com but the other versions do. This edition doesn’t show up in the PS store either.

@Blind_Bleeder
I never said the link from the show website works. Here’s the purchase link for you. https://direct.playstation.com/en-us/buy-games/mlb-the-show-24-collectors-edition-ps5-ps4

Thank you very much! That's what I get for thinking the PS Store is the same as PS Direct.
-
@Blind_Bleeder I am curious if you could use the negro League stadiums in online diamond dynasty. That was a big factor in why I got the game last year

Seriously!!! I never know that!!! I’m being sarcastic obviously.

I don't know. I rarely (2 games in 23) play online. I'm sure someone else here will know, though.

That’s something when they don’t have to donate anything and I’m sure the exposure in the game brings more to them.
I don’t have a need for game cases. I have the digital edition PS5 and even with the PS4 hadn’t gotten a physical game since around 2018. I already covered my thoughts for the hats.

This is exactly what I was hoping they were going to do last year. Very cool!
BTW — a couple years ago I made a little weekend trip to KC to visit the Negro League museum and see a couple Royals games. If you’re within a day’s drive, I can’t recommend it enough. The museum was fantastic. And royals tickets were crazy cheap (sat right behind the on-deck circle for like 75 bucks). KC is a really nice city. Wouldn’t mind relocating there some day.
-
Two issues I have with CE this year and after buying it every year I won't this year
- There's no mention of the game on the hat. 2. No disc

And...the Royals tweeted that they are sponsoring free admission to the museum for all of February.

Update
The MLBTS website's ordering portal now has a link to PS Direct to order the NL edition for the PS5.
