MLB The Show 24 Tech Test
-
On the stream schedule in February, we have the Collector's Edition Reveal on the 6th and Feature Premieres on the 16th and 22nd, but when is the Tech Test coming out? I'm trying to remember when we got last year's tech test. Wasn't it like mid February?
-
MLB The Show 24 will not have a pre-launch Tech Test.
-
Bummer. I'm guessing that this means 24 will be mostly a cut and paste of 23, but I'm going to hold out hope that we get a redesign/next-gen in 25.
A boy can dream, can't he?

@CBrev47 Although they do have feature premieres on the schedule. I personally think they did everything right with the new fielding mechanics and new hitting mechanics. The fielding felt more natural and that bat PCI was a game changer!!!! You know what they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
-
Previous Tech Tests have been to either put new play engines through their paces or to stress-test the online experience.
From this announcement, I guess we can assume that neither are getting complete overhauls.
-
Starting off on the wrong foot already, oof
-
Let's assume that nothing has changed with gameplay, and then let's also assume Sets come back.
Does that mean 23 was super successful in drawing in microtransactions?
-
I hope that means the servers will be more stable than we’re used to on launch.

Servers aren't even stable now.

No Tech Test doesn't mean there aren't any changes. It only means they're tinkering around the edges, not doing ground-up overhauls.
The lack of a Tech Test also has no bearing on whether Sets come back. -

i mean gameplay in 23 was fine, all 24 needs to do is hammer content, what drastic change needs to be made in a baseball video game?

Ah man that's a shame, was looking forward to it.

Every year I enjoy seeing how many times I'll get someone to dashboard from a meaningless tech test game

Definitely can't let you best me that early in the game cycle

It's really hard to even want to try a tech test when it does seeing to be the same game in and out. I got 23 and 21. Try to skip a year just to see there's a massive difference. Only difference is one's for PS5 and the other was for PS4 even still you currently play online diamond dynasty. There's moments when you change pictures. Statistics don't show up reflecting their actual stats in season play. Even some of the AI commentary is just broken and so repetitive really for me this is going to be a hard struggle to buy this coming game or future games unless I see bigger improvements
