MLB The Show 24 - Wandy Peralta

So, I'm assuming now that Wandy Peralta has signed with another team (besides NYY) you guys will give him the respectable overall he deserves...? Wandy spent three seasons with the Yankees and was extremely reliable and efficient on a constant basis. However, they never rated him over 69. Wandy just got a 4 year 16.5-million-dollar deal with incentives at the age of 32 as a relief pitcher. He should be min 75 overall next year.

No they definitely overpaid for him, I think him being good for the Yankees was a fluke

Thank you, Momma Peralta.
Relief pitchers are highly fungible so it makes sense that rankings tend to be on the haphazard side. If anything, outside of Mariano-level closers, they should all be no higher than bronze.

You can’t just go off his ERA and say he’s doing really well. His FIP in 2023 was 5.05 and his WHIP was 1.22. He has a low K/9 and high BB/9. His ratings in K/9 and BB/9 alone are keeping him really low. If you take his card and go edit him and raise those you can see how big a difference those 2 categories make.
His 2021 season isn’t much better in that area so that’s 75% of his rating.

Unfortunately ERA does not affect ratings. Peralta's has actually been pretty good in the ERA department.
Needless to say his contract makes no difference either.
SO/9 is a big factor and a pitcher, especially a reliever, with an average that is less than a strikeout per inning pitched is going to take a major ratings hit. He got better last year improving from 7.5 SO/9 in 2022 too 8.5 in 2023. So you may see a bump in that stat.
But, his BB/9 rating jumped from 2.7 to 5.0 so I expect his BB/9 to dip pretty significantly. Most likely offsetting any gains in SO/9
HR/9 went from 0.3 in 2022 to 1.2 in 2023. But based on his last three years it should still average out about the same so it may not change.
My guess? He stays about the same as he was.
