The purpose of R2 was (as SDS once said somewhere) the equivalent of the hand sticking out to the umpire … a pause … But let‘s be honest: It got out of hand. 90% of the time it is to disturb the rhythm of you pitching.
I do R2 to check pitches (once or twice per pitcher) or sometimes to check pitcher stamina. But if I do, I do it pretty quickly.

Bunt dancing should be abandoned, twice should be enough. …

The rest depends on your opinions.
The me, bunt dancing and R2ing is toxic. Additionally I also like to ones who trash talk. Yesterday I had one opponent, who texted me to „throw strikes“, since he swung at everything I threw to him …

I do not mind pausing and/or replaying (since I to like to watch a HR of myself again (if I manage to hit one :)) …

I do admit to bunt dancing with my Cap. Michael Jackson. But he’s Michael Jackson and I hope
My opponents understand the albeit small comedy aspect in that.

His HR celebration is also the limbo with the levitating bat. So when he is learning back smooth criminal style i skip it

    🤣

@ChuckCLC All right it seems like you were kind of favoring but I'm just saying look how many times that some people do that [censored] stupid bunt dance and then they get a freaking home run out of nowhere. It glitches pitching somehow👈🙄

@YOSHI24 The simple solution for the R2 button is remove the need for it. Put the pitch locations for that at bat on the screen before the pitch, just like they did with the pitch types in 21 going forward.

They can then deactivate the R2 button completely during RS play, unless there is some purpose for it that I just don't know about.

I hate bunt dancing, however, someone posted a while ago that they bunt dance because it helps them with their swing timing. I do not do that, but maybe it does help some.

The bunt dancing is just silly, imo. As many of these “strategies”, I think it’s mostly to annoy the opponent.

R2 has its uses, but can actually impact the pitcher’s effectiveness, so it’s probably a bigger problem.

I’d also add that something probably needs to be done about the extra step lead vs step-off battles. Considering MLB rule changes to pick offs, I’m hoping this will find its way out of the game in future.

Another day, another cheeser rewarded. Played a guy, domed stadium, roof open, rainy conditions, bunt cheese rewarded on a pitch not even near the zone, pick off throw, have him nailed, only to have the ball conveniently pull the player away from the runner.

Have had multiple games lately where pitches that nearly hit the batter in the hand are perfectly placed bunts that end up with a hit, pitcher confidence goes down, and it is all down hill.

SDS will ALWAYS reward the cheater.

R2, bunt dancing, the dam pausing, quick pitching, side stepping etc. All needs to be fix somehow. Oh don't forget the dam internet/ server problems on top of all of that too.

I will only hold R2 if I get to a 3-2 count so I can see where the previous pitches were thrown. (Unless my opponent is quick pitching; then I'll hold it until they slow down their pitching.)

I faced someone last night that held R2 after EVERY pitch. It was annoying.

I usually don't face someone that bunt dances unless they're getting beat or they think I'm taking to long to pitch.

The quick pausing really doesn't bother me that much because it hurts them more then me as they lose pause time.

Quick Pitching needs to go. There should be a few second delay from when the pitcher gets the ball to when they can actually pitch. Or they need to turn balks back on.

Side Stepping should only be activated when someone is on a base.

Also, they need to get rid of the runner being able to return to a base; if they're trying to steal the next base. None of this running back and forth BS.

Also, the SOTS cards should ONLY work for someone when their the homestead. And their should be settings where these can be turned off; If a player chooses to do so. Naturally the person that has them activated can still hear them. But the other player should be able to turn them off if they want.

I do not get all of that.

R2 - you could fix that and make stamina visible all the time and only allow it once (e.g.) per AB
Bunt dancing - Limit it to 1-2 times per AB
    Pausing - What ?!?!?
    Quick pitching - What ?!?
Side Stepping - Is part of the game and hurts the pitcher too

Few things are more enjoyable than hitting a juke off someone that quick pitches each time as soon as someone gets to second.

To fix bunt dancing, increase the time it takes a hitter to reset and swing. Most professional baseball players would never be able to make any significant contact while squaring to bunt multiple times.

i Dont mind at all when people bunt dance. It means your timing will be off and you are most likely not focusing on the 'chess' of the game. I beat bunt dancers daily. When you bunt dance, you've already lost.

Atleast someone in this post had the sense to say they need to fix the way online servers operate. To heck the r2 or dancing. The real problem is the connections. I think r2 could use a tone down but let them dance away. Sometimes I hold out the bunt and then pull back to hit. Probably placebo but it gets me back on track. The dancing is comical but I mostly throw strikes or what looks like a strike so don’t get to much of it. It sucks waiting 4 or 5 pitches to get a strike but that’s baseball somtimes. Of course I’m a way below average player. 700- 900 record not ranking. lol but I enjoy it. Been playing since the first Nintendo days.

@BiigD008 Or better yet, lock them in the bunting position after the second time and they do the back and forth and have no choice but to watch me throw a ball out of the zone for a free strike.

Doing that is one thing, but with the bunt dancing, it is usually just one of many things these sub human cheating cheesers do. When they bunt dance with ever batter, you can bet your last dollar they will also be quick pitching, using all outlier starters in relief, exploit animations, choose rain, and usually have the loser clown uniforms too.

I no longer have the tolerance for this garbage, because 9 times out of 10 SDS will reward this type of gameplay, and no matter how many times they are reported suffer zero consequences. I simply walk away. I don't need to deal with sub human trash. If they get their points towards a ranking they don't deserve so be it.

Toxic players need lifetime bans, but SDS could care less about players who cheat, but if anyone gets so much as ONE stub in a manner they don't like they can't ban that player fast enough.
