So glad that players like Mickey Mantle and Stan Musial will lose their 99 cards in a few weeks but that we get both a Set 2 and a Set 3 99 overall Schwarber.

While I have heard the cry for more (early 99) cards for several years, I have never heard anyone asking for expiring cards and Sets.
SDS did not give the community what they wanted... Rather, they used something that the community was asking for, and changed that into something else, that would make them more revenue.

I still don't think sets and seasons is an awful idea. I just think the way it was implemented into the game this year was pretty bad.

I think 97s are pretty much 99s once you boost them and parallel them , plus your opponents are going to have the same issue. If you wanted to show off your parallel 5 boosted God squad you can do it in casual , all year long.

They def become 99s when there is a captain but even that didn’t occur last program

Yeah, Sets and Seasons are whatever... However, them deciding to implement expiring cards into the game this year is a request that I have never heard from the community. Implementing expiring cards is my only major disappointment that I have with this game.

I still don't think sets and seasons is an awful idea. I just think the way it was implemented into the game this year was pretty bad.
I agree. Thought it was a good idea but bad execution.
How do we get worse 99 player cards than previously released versions earlier in the year (ie Realmuto, Schwarber) and are still waiting for a 99 Brett, 99 Foxx, 99 Rollins, etc. card to be released?

I'd go so far as to wonder why those players, along with a few others deserve multiple 99s ahead of all the hall of famers in the game except Griffey Jr.
Meanwhile lots of marquee players like Mookie Betts, Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado, etc have gotten none.
Also, while legends such as Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle and Stan Musial won't have a season 4 eligible 99 card between them to begin the season.

Very odd execution. These 97s are nothing more than binder filler. I’m guessing we will start seeing 99s in TA4 like last year. So that should help and my hope is they are legends since TA1 and TA3 were active and TA2 was both.
I’m also hoping they just add so many solid set 4 cards because that will never expire. So starting with season 4 you can build your team to end game.
