If contact swing is so powerful try using it on your way to World Series in ranked.

I've tried that in years past and it worked just fine. OP is right, contact swing is way too powerful.

You should try it in this years game.

Why does that matter? He has played enough and at a high level, pretty sure he knows what he is talking about.

You trolls tell people not to play if they don't like it. Well, he isn't playing. For me, I could give a [censored] about $100.

I’m skeptical this is an actual problem. My first thought is if your not confident enough with your PCI to use normal swing your probably not good enough for me to worry about the size of your PCI

Exactly. I bet he complains about directional hitting too

Isn't contact swing supposed to reduce power by 60%?

If that's true, then they were wrong to set it up that way to begin with. Most players swing with all of their power. You rarely see a player try to overswing. When you do, it's awkward and they usually fall out of their stance.

This might sound dumb and over the top, but I'd say a normal swing is 100%, while an attempted power swing is 120%, but your PCI drops in size 75% and your swing radius cuts in half.

That's how it should be. Try it in real life

I can handle a few curve balls in the dirt being fouled off, but hitting 450ft bombs with the big red wiffle bat?
    How do I know?
Because I hit one in an 0-2 count with Michael Brantley.
    Ridiculous.
Isn't contact swing supposed to reduce power by 60%?
Pre championship series games literally play like early Nintendo RBI Baseball.
This, in my opinion, is the worst version of the game I have ever played.

Was it a fastball? Because if you make solid contact with a fastball thrown down the middle, on a 0-2 pitch (which is never a good idea) the pitcher supplies the power to a controlled, well-timed contact swing. The ball can definitely fly over the fence in that instance.

It would not be a season of MLB the Show unless we get several posts complaining about how contact hitting and timing swings are ruining the game and giving people an unfair advantage.

I did not mean to insinuate the use of those two features together. Just that every year, several times a year, people will complain about how either contact swinging or timing swings are too good and give people an advantage.

It's a constant on the forums.

Man, I loved RBI baseball. Time to fire up nesticle on the old Windows XP laptop and play with those beautiful, beautiful Mets. Might even have to fire up “Glory Days” by the Boss while I do so….not that it’s necessary because I’m living it! Just call me Uncle Rico

You could also download the new ones from the Microsoft/PS store 🙂

(Or just play retro mode, its virtually the same game)

You know, I thought of this and maybe you can help me out because I would absolutely love that to tell you the truth! I played Tecmo Bowl online only to find no Bo Jackson, no Kevin Mack, no Lawrence Taylor…there’s just something about that touchdown screen displaying the correct name that is critical to invoke the proper level of nostalgia that I need to properly cling to the past haha…this horrified me and I never went back…but if it’s not like this with the old baseball games then I would happily play them online because then I don’t have to be at home when I play. I figured if they removed the names from there that they prob did it across the board. Perhaps not?

All of the NES ROMS I have squirreled away are versions from the late 1990s and everything is just how I remember it being back in 1985….well, except for they don’t look nearly as cool to me anymore as they did back then lol

Do you know if they have the correct player names, numbers etc online?

Also, I respectfully disagree with you on the retro mode being like RBI baseball for Nintendo…the players in that game look like the offspring from one of those little Fisher-Price toy people and a weeble-wobble lol…but I do like retro on here it’s more like a game from the mid 90s though not the mid 80s….big difference for me in that particular time frame. In one I was but a schoolboy and the other, a rifleman in the US Marines!

What a difference a decade makes huh? Hey, I thank you for the suggestion and might just try it out again so I can see for meself!
