This exactly. I’m a little above average but play almost all games against cpu on legend, HOF once in awhile. I will never understand the mindless hours of winning 25-0 in 3 inning rookie games. I can usually complete the tasks
Pretty quickly and with at least a little challenge and excitement on the higher levels.I can guarantee the people playing on rookie are completing required tasks FAR quicker than those playing on AS and above.
Players complained about having mission completion partially tied to online stats so they went to a totally offline format but made them incredibly long.
Personally, I would like to see a return to the old format with online stats being required coupled with a shortening of the programs.

Except this isn’t real baseball it’s a video game that is supposed to reward decent input. I get the balance between simulation and arcade but the randomness makes it feel like zone should be eliminated and we just use timing or directional and get what we get. I know that no perfect balance exists but the game far too often rewards bad input and punishes good input in the name of simulation. The great players are able to overcome the nuances of the game where for average players it’s generally the difference between success and failure. I played baseball for almost 20 years and have watched it for 35 years. This game is at its best when it rewards players input and time put into the game with appropriate rewards. This years game is falling short in both regards and is the main reason on top of all the utter silliness and other cringe that long time players are extremely frustrated and disappointed.

P-P has to do with the type of contact you make. It has nothing to do with the result of that contact in the context of a baseball game.
PP should not be guaranteed hits, agreed. I have no problem with the % of outs.
What you should admit is that PP nukes with guys with over [fill in your number] power should ALWAYS go out. Can't tell you how many PP nukes with 125 power guys were caught on the warning track. [censored] horrible design decision.

It's a catch-22 for sure. Randomness is a huge part of baseball, and we love it. I don't think SDS can win with this one, honestly. That's why the original RBI Baseball will feel more satisfying but we'll still never go back to it.
One thing you said is so spot-on. The best players are able to overcome the randomness almost all the time. The rest of us get very frustrated by it because our instances of perfect input are much more rare.

Fact is, its much easier squaring up a baseball from your [censored] in front of a monitor than real life. If you want every single good input to be rewarded, we’d have football scores. It’s just not logical

What was the pitcher’s rating? What’s the elevation? What part of the stadium was it hit? What stadium are you playing?
Just saying…there’s a lot of other factors.
Also don’t think Power just means distance. It has to do with speed at which the ball comes off the bat. Which, I know, has a role in distance, but so does the angle of the of launch…and spin on the ball.
I think one thing some people overlook is that there are variations of P-P. That’s why you see some P-P that are screamers thru the infield or right at someone…P-P hits that are lasers in a gap…and P-P that are no doubt bombs.
On a side note, I will purposely play in big stadiums with low elevation and load up a pitching staff of guys with high HR/9 ratings just because I know it will put a decent portion of the people who play this game on absolute TILT when they hit a P-P that just dies on the warning track in Griffith Stadium…LOL.
They play and watch streamers play so many games in max elevation stadiums with 320 foot fences that when they have to play a different game…they go absolutely bonkers.

And the game isn’t even made to play on rookie- if you want to be even slightly good at ranked/events you have to master allstar
Playing in rookie all the time would just hinder how good you get at the game
