They couldn’t have made it easier to get good players without paying. If you spend money, I don’t know what you’re thinking.

I cannot make subjective judgments on whether MLB The Show 23 is pay-to-win or not. However, in general, "pay-to-win" refers to games where players can spend real money to gain significant advantages over other players who don't pay. If MLB The Show 23 offers in-game purchases that provide significant gameplay advantages, it could be considered pay-to-win. However, it's important to note that game developers need to make money to continue developing and supporting their games, and many games offer optional in-game purchases that do not significantly impact gameplay. Ultimately, it's up to individual players to decide if they want to spend money on in-game purchases or not.

Disagree. I’ve always had a team equal to my opponent and never spent a penny above purchase price. My record is reflective, when I get around to playing, to my inability to bat and my ability to pitch really well. Now I haven’t played a single game this year but that’s not because of my team. That’s because I’m in the “I’m pissed they took wind out of the game minority” and haven’t really played yet. But I have no doubt my squad is equal to anyone I’d be matched with considering who I have.

Some people pay to win. Others? They win to pay. Which side are you on?
Choose carefully.
The choice is yours.
Yours is the choice of a new generation.

Not pay to win... but it is pay to keep up with "the jones" or pay to create content or pay because you lost to "someone that paid" and you feel you are the better player if you had the same cards you would've won.
For me personally I've seen the success players have had with No Money Spent teams and realized that although I'll spend money on the game (I haven't yet besides JRF pack) I don't need to go out and grab stubs after every drop... I know I wanted Baty and Alvarez from Future Stars pack but wasn't able to buy 150k stubs to max out and get those three packs... so instead I've just been grinding thus far and with Baty below pack price I just got him from the market and I am eying Alvarez's price because if he's less than 50k once I get 50k I'm just going to buy him outright also instead of getting the pack... plus these packs will most likely be in reward paths and conquest map hidden rewards as well as other places sooner rather than later as well.

Yep... I used a two accounts back in the 2016 or 2017 game. My NMS all gold team did better than my money team of diamonds, and was just one win short of making the WS. Not sure why, but I probably just focused more with my NMS team due to usually having lesser cards than my opponent.

game is too easy... its not pay to win lol

I immediately think of the SAW movies upon reading this

It’s not pay to win. It’s just pay to finish collections faster.

Clearly you never play NBA 2k

Hitting in online RS H2H is definately not "easy".
If it were, then you would not have hundreds of MLBTS Hitting Tips videos on YouTube. -
Depends if you are world series player or a content creator who spend thousands of dollars in the game so you can make a video titled "blank debut". But DD is not buy to win, its not the cards, its the player.

I feel like NMS you will construct your team more to your play style or simply use the cards you have more success with for whatever reason vs putting the highest overall at every position.
Shoot I already learned my lesson from my main team this year that when/if I get to the Charisma Pack in Season 1 XP path I'm not picking Lee Smith... I went into Ranked and got burned something awful... lol... so even though he's a No Money Spent/Grind card he won't be on my NMS team until he's the only Charisma left but that would only be if I get additional packs after the initial ones in the path.
I picked him, Eric Davis, Craig Biggio, Curtis Granderson, so I'll still pick them and whoever else is available but no Lee Smith for me

double post... my bad... got distracted by Drew Smyly... lol

Good point. The past couple of years I mainly have been prioritizing the cards I like the best, and not just based on their ratings. For example, Eric Davis was my fav player growing up and he will always be my CF, regardless of the rating. I am not a pro gamer, nor a YouTuber, so I only play for the enjoyment.
Or, iow, I would rather lose with the cards I like the best, than lose with the higher rated cards that I do not like as much. lol
