Why isn't Candlestick an Iconic/Classic Park?
-
As a kid I thought it was awesome that it had a chain link fence!
-
A. All of the "modern" classic stadiums were used up until 2009. The Giants left the Stick back in 2000.
B. Outside of the wind and the Oakland-sized foul territory, Candlestick was pretty much a cookie cutter indistinguishable from all the other 1970's atrocities (Riverfront, Astrodome, 3 Rivers, Vet, etc.)

Okay, but that adds to my point. Don't you want to play with the wind and rundown ability? Maybe it is due to the fact that the studio is down south, and they are altar boys. Just look at live players Rodon 87 only diamond against Machado 90, Hader 87, Darvish 86, Musgrove 85. This prior to last year's start. California love! Got 2 B.

I'd say Ebbets is a real classic that is missing.

While I agree with you OP, I just don’t think a lot of non-Giants fans or the developers would view Candlestick as iconic as us Giants fans do. It was a big part of my childhood and had some great moments and memories, but it was an awful place to watch games (and play as a player from what I’ve heard) compared to most other ballparks.
That being said, I’ve actually used the Stadium Creator the past couple years to make Candlestick and it’s the only park I make. I will have to make another one this year since stadiums aren’t transferable for some reason. But you’ll be able to find it by searching my username. It’s usually done the first few weeks after the game is released.

Yes, Ebbots Field and Polo Grounds are also needed!
-
Tiger Stadium with It's over hanging upper deck in right field. Center field 440 ft.From home plate. The polo grounds would be another good stadium to add.
-
Polo Grounds is in the game

I'll look for it, hope it isn't too much work...

I enjoy making it, it just takes me a while because I'm a perfectionist. Haha

Why every year doesn't SDS add The Astrodome??
-
Imagine Shea with a roof.
Boom. Astrodome.

There are no "luv ya blue" signs in Shea.

Ebbets is the one. Thought for sure with Jackie getting added to the game a few years ago we would get Ebbets Field.

I think a major reason why Candlestick isn't included is because of how the new park is with the whole McCovey Cove and what not and if I recall that's where the Giants played when Barry was breaking HR records... I don't recall him being on a Candlestick Giants team but I could be wrong.
Also I think licensing might also be an issue with whoever actually owns the park or the rights to it (if it no longer exist)... I'd imagine SDS would have to come to an agreement in order to use it's likeness in the game.

Bonds played in the Stick for 7 years (93-99), Pac Bell (or whatever) for 8.

Candlestick isn’t iconic it was a dump

As an A's fan, I'm convinced that their stadium would be looked at as iconic if their ownership wasn't so determined to cheap out and field a roster that would struggle to win a AAA championship year after year.
