That is definitely a significant sample size
Seeing as how this is only your 3rd game, I assume you don't know there are already penalties in place for bringing starters in out of the pen. Stamina for each starter that comes in will be used up for the next few games. Considering the fact that most relievers have better H/9 and K/9 than starters there isn't much incentive unless it's extra innings or a play in game for World Series.
If you're playing the tech test, I know the event from yesterday involving clutch had very few if any decent relievers. That would explain starters coming out of the pen.
Also, if starters coming out of the pen offends you due to the lack of realism, just wait until you see Future Star and Topps Now cards. Your head may explode.

Yeah, I agree with you it’s a small sample size. It did happen a lot last year too. And yes, I am aware a lot of the future star cards are super overrated. This game loves making stats for players over 100 so the game feels more arcade.

Every once in a while, I come across a cheeser who has a bunch of low rated control guys and if I have shown any patience during the game will bring in Ryan, deGrom, or some other flamethrowing starter out of the pen around the 5th inning.
I do see it, but it is so rare as to not be an issue as far as I am concerned.

Perhaps, but lets face it. The cheesers who do this will simply put a new guy in their rotation once the game ends.
Since the person you replied to is in test mode, I don't know how that is going to work with the rosters once the game officially launches, but even if it does, there will be a river of new content during the year, and most of the cards used at this time will be relegated to what I call AAA, not on the active roster.

Even if they replace a used starter with a new pitcher, that used starter wont regenerate any stamina until theyre placed back in the rotation.
So if someone starts with Milestone Halliday and brings in Milestone Randy in the 7th, then replaces Randy with another pitcher before the next game, when they eventually put Randy back into the rotation; he'll still have low stamina.
The easiest way to keep people from using a reliever to open a game and/or a starter as relief; is to go back to having the cpu select your pitcher. But that wont happen.

Thank you for the well thought out response. Because it’s the only mode where you can play with friends with any sort of custom roster. So I would prefer if we cut out people who abuse what’s in place.
Hopefully they bring back online franchise or online MTO and I can never play diamond dynasty again. But for now the show only wants you to play diamond dynasty with people online so they can make more money.

I like the idea of giving people control over everything. In real life, every team could use starters out of the bullpen, but they don‘t do it due to lack of starters, risk of injuries in the long run … In DD, you have loads of starters, especially in the end-game-cycle (which is why you should not exaggerate on the use right now … In the next months you will not have that too often.

We have tons of relief pitchers. No team besides in the playoffs do they bring a starter out of the bullpen. Please take it out of the game. Everyone has great relief pitchers, and people bring out the second starter almost every game. You can’t do it in the regular mode but you can in DD. Please make this change.
Half these guys responding only play the CPU and the other half forgot about facing DeGrom or Randy out of the bullpen all year.

Why not have access to your full squad… penalties as others have stated are in place for this.

There are some penalties that soften the blow a little. But — especially later in the game cycle — I don’t really see a huge difference. If they bring in RF Gagne or Milestone Nolan, I’m screwed either way so I don’t give it much thought.

Short memory … we are in the end-game-cycle … If you enter 22 now, you will only face crazy pitching
I played hundreds of game until autumn … All-Star and HoF. In maybe 5 games, my opponent brought in a starter (maybe because World Series was on the line).
In the end-game-cycle, I do not mind facing DeGrom, Randy or those other stupid overpowered relief pitchers I can‘t be consistently good against :). Like @SchnauzerFace_MLBTS said, I am not sure if facing those is worse than the top bullpen arms

SPs will always be available out of the pen because real teams use openers. Its not a bad strategy either. McGunski does it all the time and it makes sense. Use a solid RP for 1-2 innings, then pinch hit for him and bring in a SP based on which one you think you need.
Now this year without having the P spot hit I'd be curious if some of these top players will still do it but it can still be viable option.
And yes--its annoying when people go SP to SP but I can understand it with WS rank on the line. Otherwise I don't get it but that's their choice to make.
