Anyone think the game will be out before opening day?

What I'm saying is these engines are expensive to pay for/create... these programmers (sports games or otherwise) aren't going to keep creating new engines from year to year...
Being locked into a one year cycle is a real disadvantage for game developers. But it seems like they should be able to recognize when they have a good product and just leave it alone. For example, most people seem to like the hitting engine for 20. Why did they feel the need to even change it? Granted there will be some who complain about it but I don't think it was as bad as this one is.
The only reason I got 22 is because they said they had better trade logic in franchise, which honestly turned out to be not true in my opinion.

I can think of at least one reason:

Sorry, just ready for this new game!! 22 got very boring very fast.
Do you think 23 will be any different? It's pretty much the same year after year. The aspects they could work on like franchise and road to the show that coukd make game more interesting, SDS refuses to improve. At least the art department will be busy with their cards
Game might not be different, but it’ll be fun to go after the chase of the MLB collection and the new programs.

With the world baseball classic it should….but again like previously stated this is SDS
Not sure when/if they'll be able to get the rights to the WBC to include it in the game so I don't think the WBC will play into when the game releases... I feel like we could go back to the game coming out in Early March but at the latest I feel like it'll come out the Tuesday before the season starts.
Well MLB owns the WBC. But I was talking baseball starts early this year so they should get it out ahead of that. But again. SDS

I took a 4-day weekend when MLB:TS 22 was released last year. Most of that weekend was spent fighting the servers and unsuccessfully trying to load Mini Seasons. I think I’ll keep my personal days this year.
Agreed, and I'm not pre ordering this year.

I just acquired O’Neill Cruz for Eleisar Hernández and Erik Gonzales so, can confirm.

I can't speak to the engine as I left online play due to circumstances at some point in 2019 and haven't fully returned to H2H as I haven't committed to PlayStation Plus just yet... going to wait for 23 to come out and get a year subscription and see how it goes.
If they stuck with how 20 was they most likely would have been slandered like most sports games and similar games that have multiple releases are as simply being copy and paste with a roster update. Also from what I noticed the developers never know how a game is going to play until it gets out into the wild

This isn't accurate as SDS does not have the license for the WBC... I'd imagine if MLB owned the WBC that license would not be required if MLB owned it and they have MLB license so WBC would be included.

Would be cool if we get a special "Cover Athlete" Program card for preorder... just a thought.

Yeah I get that, but hitting is hitting. It doesn't change unless the pitchers change their deliveries which does happen quite a bit. But if you have a good hitting engine there's no reason to change it, simply because the date has changed. All in all though, I don't have any super high expectations for this game.
