Pausing on online games

Why do people pause CONSTANTLY during online games? I understand warming up pitchers, etc. BUT why are players constantly pausing game on 0-2 counts or 0-1 counts?

Honestly i have had that happen a lot and then i even throw a bad pitch or even almost bounce a pitch and its bye bye a HR and then get mad lol

I have VERY limited online experience, but it has happened to me in many of the games I've played (which isn't many). I thought they were trying to freeze me out, like when a football coach calls time out just before a field goal kick.

At best, they’re being inconsiderate (I’m picturing some doofus texting or googling in between pitches). More likely, though, they’re trying to irk you enough that you just quit and give them the W.

Some players like to pause when they are pitching and you’ve timed the fastball. If you’re facing an opponent like this, you might know what pitch is coming next if you pay attention to the pattern.

If I've paused, it's always to go to the bullpen. Or make an emergency run to the restroom. So it could be either of those.

People start games when they shouldn’t then spend 30 seconds at a time attending to other things instead of the game. It’s annoying. It happens to the best of us but doing it constantly isn’t right.

I’ve also gotten the pause after I’ve gone to the bullpen or substitution, just for whatever reason to toxic.

i think you are right bud - i just try to take a deep breath and wait it out when this happens

It's usually some knob trying to aggrevate you, or psych you out.
I use time out in the batters box as my way of saying "Come on!"
If they persist, i wait till I get a comfy lead, then step off the rubber repeatedly, use up minutes to go to the latrine, etc.There's an unwritten code H2H-- no bunt dancing, no replaying HR's, no bunt cheese.
If you use up time?
Hey, that's why it's there.But if you repeatedly break the code, that's when my old competitive juices kick in and I'm out to humiliate you.

The problem is the game keeps adding time back after these incessant pauses. I hate the people who pause the game as soon as it starts for over a minute. They shouldn't get that time back. If they make a move, like go to the bullpen, warm up a pitcher, bring in a pinch hitter, etc., sure, give them some time back. But if they pause the game for a minute or two and then do nothing? That time should be gone. I hate players who do that.

This happens quite frequently, I have ran into several douche bags lately who do that, the bunt cheese thing, and watching replays when they hit a home run honestly it’s just a waste of time, it adds so much more time to the game when people do this.

I do pause game to check bullpen(s) and matchups. Also sometimes I have to go to the path room or just take some extra time for more focus.
I think it is part of the game … the only thing is people constantly pausing and unpausing at 1-2 seconds left. They do it to annoy people -
There should be some sort of quick menu
Warm up bullpen (you can pick two which you want too) and press L3 and triangle etc. to save time.
But they need to reduce the pause total timer
