At the point where I'm just going to wait and hope they release another card from this series on top of the one they are supposed to drop tomorrow.
The prices for some of these Takashi cards is absolutely bonkers.

Takashi Ohtani is an SP with NO secondary position eligibility.
Have fun paying millions of stubs for ANOTHER pitcher.
You say called it and everyone else calls an epic fail.
Secondary has LF, CF and RF.
Where does it list secondary positions? I don't see it when I bring up the card.
It’s showing secondary positions on the companion app. And why would I need to spend millions of stubs when I already have all of the cards for the collection?
How do you pull up his card on the companion app?
Go to inventory.
Filter to Takashi series then go to the Ownership filter and either go to “all” or “unowned”. When you are looking at a cards stats tap on the card art to flip the card and you will see the secondary stats and other infoConsidering his AS, LS, and CA cards also have that listed; yet you can't play them anywhere but SP; until someone comes on here showing him in an OF position; I'm sticking with my original statement.

OP is right there are no 2 way players in the game,
ohtani is just a SP with insane hitting attributes -
I know I’ll catch some hate for this but I’m not that excited about this card. Is he good.yeah. Is he the best player in the game? Absolutely not. He’s not the best pitcher and I’m not even sure if he’s top 5. I’m two cards short of getting him and have enough stubs to buy the cards I need but after seeing it I’ll just wait to get Billy Wagner and Musial in flashback boss packs. That’s if they do that again this year. I just can’t justify spending that many stubs on the two missing cards for a pitcher that will only pitch 1 out of 3 or 4 games. To each is own though. He is good. Just not worth the money it takes to get him. If I was smart I would’ve bought a couple of those cards days ago. I almost did too and talked myself out of it. That’s how it goes sometimes.

No, I called that everyone that was hype about getting him would be let down because they were expecting him to be able to swapped into an OF position, or put in an OF position instead of a pitcher position.
Just wait. I'm sure we'll eventually get a few of the 'why can't I put him in the outfield after I pitch with him? This is bs. Thought this year was all about 2-way players' posts in a few days.
-
What exactly is the issue with Ohtani?
I don't really use his cards, but are you not able to simply start him in the lineup unless he's pitching? I'm sure this is more of an issue with modes where stamina is involved because the whole spectacle of a two-way player is that he can just hit on days where he is resting between starts.

Any of his 'pitcher' cards like his LS, AS, or CA card only allow you to play him as a pitcher. You can't play him in the outfield.
His hitting cars, TN, can be played in the OF. But you can't put him in as a starting pitcher. You can bring him in as relief, if you pinch hit with him and don't replace him when it prompts you, but he only has 2-3 pitches and the control and stamina are horrible.
-
Most of the community wants him to be able to play outfield AND pitch in the same game.
But, unless I missed something, I don't think he's played in the outfield and pitched in the same game in real life either.
It's another way people are trying to abuse an exploit. Just like a few did in the one Moonshot Event where TN players were eligible and you only could use Common pitchers.
They would put him on the bench and would pinch hit for their pitcher and exit out of the screen when the game suggested you replace your pinch hitter. This way they could get a Diamond pitcher in the game.
And even though his pitch control and stamina were greatly affected; people still did it in hopes of one of two things happening.
- They could get enough pitches out of him to make it worth it.
Or
- They would hope people would just quit the game.

I will admit that the year they have Ohtani on the cover, it is kind of ridiculous how they have not figured out a way to utilize him as he is in real life.
Is there some kind of workaround to get him to play the field when he can't/isn't pitching?

No work around. But like I said; I don't think he's ever played as a pitcher and a position player, other than DH, is a real life game.
Pretty much people want to play him in the outfield and be able to bring him in the game in a relief aspect. That isn't possible.
While some may want it as purely an aesthetically purpose; a majority want it to be able to be used as an exploit.
Gotta have that shiny new toy before everyone else.

So this is mainly an issue because the developers of the game have yet to incorporate the DH.
-
People who play RS would like to use him in OF on his non pitching days.
And others would like to play him in OF in events or whatever they are playing when not starting pitcher.
-
If you compare him to Degrom and Burnes of course he doesnt match up but he is still a pretty good pitcher with insane hitting stats and quirks.
Plus giving him outlier on the fastball compared to his other card should help differentiate the speed from his cutter

There's so many batters in the game I would take as many pitchers as I can. So far, for me, he's going to be one of the best pitchers in the game for Ranked Seasons.

Another year of Ohtani being BP?
