Here is how the game could be quickly made more realistic.
In real life, there is no such thing as hitters having less power against lefties or righties.
A hitter has X amount of power period. Doesnt matter who he faces.
His ability to make contact on the other hand can vary greatly (or not) depending on who he faces a RHP or LHP.
If a certain player hits for less power in real life against either side... It's not because of physical strength varies depending on the pitcher... Its simply due to a lesser ability to barrel the ball for power consistently against LHP or RHP.
If Daniel Vogelbach perfectly connects to a pitch from a lefty... It will go JUST AS FAR as if he perfectly connects with a pitch from a righty!
MLB The Show needs to have one single power rating for every hitter.
Doesnt it make sensé?
This would make the game even more unrealistic. Guys that are platoon bench players like Joc Pederson would be better than other guys who are all stars.
No... Joc should have an even lower contact rating against lefties than he has right now... His PCI should be even smaller... But if you find à way to hit it with a smaller PCI... Yes you should be able to hit the ball AS FAR against any pitcher.

Unless its a switch hitter. They for sure have different power depending on which side they bat.

Absolutely not...
Follow me here...
If Vogelbach... Hits a 95 mph pitch PERFECT/PERFECT with the same launch angle...
If he does it against a lefty or righty... The ball will go as far.
The ball will not go 50 foot shorter against the lefty.
Thus meaning a hitter only has one power attribute

No, not with you here. I was with you a bit on the vs pitcher, but not vs sides of the plate. I was a switch hitter that had far more power from the right side, my dominant side. Same with all switch hitters. Lance Berkman was another similar to me, except for the MLB talent he had :-), Put up better numbers from the left side but if you had to just go up there and drive the ball as far as you can it was the right side. Jose Rameriz the same.

I agree with you... Switch hitters are the Only hitters that should have different power ratings... Because its a whole différent swing and you use différent muscles that might be weaker.
We should also have the ability to give 2 différent swings when we create switch hitters... Cuz some guys have totally différent stances
But standard hitters should only have one power ratings

Guys you dont understand...
I know they hit LESS Hrs against same side...
But their physical strength iis still always the same... If Vogelbach never hits à bomb against à lefty... Its because he cant MAKE CONTACT... not because he's a b*tch all of à sudden agaisnt lefty.
For the platoon players like Joc and Voggy... Maybe they deserve even worst CONTACT rating than they already have...
But they are not physically weaker against same side pitching... Its impossible.
Power is Power... If you can hit the ball 450 you can hit it 450 feet.
not actually true. First of all their physical strength isn't the only reason they hit with power, otherwise Arnold Swarzenegger would have been a beast....second of all, swinging from your weaker handedness doesn't provide the same amount of power as your dominant handedness. It may not even be due to contact, it may be due to the fact they don't generate as much hip drive or bat speed on their off handed side. Look at Chipper Jones, he batted 304 from both sides but hit 361 HR vs RHP and 104 vs LHP.......so yes there should be splits on the handedness for power
-
if you mean from the matchup, then I still don't agree because the ball comes in different and in the game the Power stat isn't a reflection of strength but ability to hit for power....regardless of contact...so if you hit less LH vs LH, then the stat is lower because of the ability to hit home runs. I think you are just reading the stat incorrectly, as it is not an indicator of strength.

You dont understand... Are you telling me that Vogelbach cannot hit the ball as far WHEN HE CONNECTS against à lefty...
I’m not the one telling you.
Reality is.

There are a lot of platoon players... That you might think have less power against same side pitching.
But the reason they have worst stats against same side pitching is SOLELY due to their bad CONTACT.
If Daniel Vogelbach hits less homeruns against a LHP... Its because he CANT MAKE CONTACT AS WELL. NOT BECAUSE HE HAS LESS POWER.
Power is power...
If Daniel Vogelbach perfectly connects to a pitch from a lefty... It will go JUST AS FAR as if he perfectly connects with a pitch from a righty!
His attributes should be something like
55 RHP contact
18 LHP contact
85 powerA platoon player ALWAYS HAS THE SAME POWER... he just sucks at making contact on same side pitching.
MLB The Show needs to have one single power rating for every hitter.
If you read this post slowly you will realize what im saying makes sense.
I agree that a batter has the same power whether the pitcher is right-handed or left-handed. The problem is the CONTACT attribute is tied to batting average.
If you make a single POWER attribute then they would need a two separate HOMERUN attributes vs Left and Right. These attributes would represent the skill, technique, ability etc. that a batter has against Left/Right handed pitching -
