Barry Bonds is not the home run king. Plain and simple.

This post brought to you by the man who said “we can all agree most people think Madden is a better game at this point”.

Record books disagree with you whether you or any of us like it.

This is really neither here nor there, but any time people start talking about Bonds and the Steroid Era (or HGH Era -- thank you, @PAinPA_PSN ) I can't help but think of this all-time great AB:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkdgJeqeCxM

Those two dudes are so full of juice that Tropicana tried to acquire them in a hostile takeover. Gagne looks like Alejandro Kirk, until you realize that's not flab and he didn't get like that with pizza and donuts.

I'm very glad the game is clean(er) today, but it is honestly pretty easy to see why MLB turned a blind eye for so long. That kind of Superhuman Strength vs. Superhuman Strength matchup is entertaining, and it sold billions in tickets and memorabilia and sports channel packages and advertisements.

You can’t cheat and be considered the home run king. Could you cheat on your wife and think you should be considered a good husband?

No, no one said he's a good home run king, but in your example he still is her husband, being bad or good doesn't matter in that context.

Bonds juiced when they didn't test for steroids. If we knew the extent a lot of our beloved players went to in order to produce, I think we would be shocked. I mean Babe Ruth injected sheep balls so like...

Baseball turned a blind eye to it, Lots of fans left after the strike, then we got Sosa, McGwire and Bonds, Baseball knew the Commish knew, but the Commish did not back the players turned his back, my opinion that it was good for baseball at that time.

Amen brother!! This is the truth!! Bonds is the GOAT!! I watched his whole career. Nobody comes close.

Record books sure…maybe not for long though, but what does agree with me is the HOF and you can bet the house that every player would rather be in there than have some record. Cheaters never win.

Need to stop calling them steroids.
none of those guys took steroids, the dangers of taking them including all the cancers they led to were well known by then they avoided them for that reason.
It was forms of growth hormones and testosterone that they were taking.
Ironically that stuff they took to avoid the cancer causing [censored] have since been discovered to lead to various cancers and immune disorders too.

    Umm.......

    https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/fitness/in-depth/performance-enhancing-drugs/art-20046134

Testosterone IS an anabolic steroid the human body produces. People said and continue to say they took steroids because they did.

I read that the Maris family acknowledged Judge as the "true" single season HR champ.

    So who do you prefer?

Now before the Debbie Downers point it out, it's obviously Gigantic Head in the books.

But do you tell your kids the story of how Bonds juiced, practically doubled his muscle mass, somehow went up a few shoe sizes, and ended up with a Pumpkin Head?

I'm with the Maris'. In the Court of Public Opinion, it's going to be Judge.
If anyone can justify that scumbag and the rest of his roid boys as legit, I would love to hear it.

I wish MLB didn't have such a weak commissioner. If it were me I would have a first strike you are suspended 162 games and the team faces some sort of punishment as well because I doubt nobody knows who their roiders are.

Second strike lifetime ban and all stats erased forever. Massive penalty for team, but not sure what it would be.

Babe Ruth had 700 plus homers and almost 100 wins as a pitcher and he did it while half drunk to boot. When Bonds can add the pitching stats I might reconsider.

The writers agree with you, not the HoF. The writers are the ones who decide who gets in and who doesn't and since Bonds was widely considered to be a [censored] the voters hold that among other things against him and keep him out. He would've been in the HoF without steroids but his ego got in the way and couldn't stand McGwire and Sosa getting all the attention

Yeah they keep him out because he cheated his way to the top. You don’t get rewarded for cutting corners and cheating. Yes the HOF does agree other wise he would be in. He will never get in and he never should. Give it time, that HR “record” he thinks is his will one day be changed.

It would be pretty hypocritical of the league to take away his record when they were loving the ratings all those home runs brought in at the time and completely knew what was happening while turning a blind eye

Bro………..come on?! I mean I love the Babe, but really?? Does the Babe have over 500 steals? The only hitter from before 1950 I would consider comparing to Barry is Ted Williams. We disagree sir.

What would mean more to me than a bunch of crabby writers opinions, is the opinion of my peers. The men I played with and against. I absolutely guarantee they say Bonds was the best. I’ve heard Billy Wagner say it. I’ve heard Will Clark say it. I’ve Van Slyke say it. If I had that, I could care less about the [censored] HOF!!

For me Elly de la Cruz at 113 homers. All offline, but at least 2 key homers in the extreme program 🤪

Is it? They sure don’t have a problem keeping him out of the HOF. The voters have it right, you do not and should not get rewarded for cheating your way to the top.

You seem to think the league has control over the voters. You would be wrong like with most of your posts.

I am always right. Will never be wrong.

Barry Bonds is not the home run king. Plain and simple.

This post brought to you by the man who said “we can all agree most people think Madden is a better game at this point”.

Record books disagree with you whether you or any of us like it.

Record books sure…maybe not for long though, but what does agree with me is the HOF and you can bet the house that every player would rather be in there than have some record. Cheaters never win.

That’s a terrible attitude to have and usually just means you are wrong a lot of the time but refuse to admit it which is how children act
