Now that's a Griffey Jr card, and it's official that is definitely one of my 3 end game outfielders.

[censored] em, if you can’t hit with 100+ stats that’s the player not the card. I don’t care what card it is lol
-
that looks great! It essentially becomes a near-perfect card with p5 bonuses. Looking forward to adding him to my team.
I hope SDS doesn’t make a habit of this thing where guys get multiple 99s. They have done a pretty good job of not overdoing it since about 19 or so. This is the first year in a while that’s going in this direction and I don’t think it’s a change for the better. If nothing else it just adds to the toxic cesspool of people griping about attributes

I agree, but I honestly don't think the 2k way is what they intended when having 2 99 Griffey's I think the original idea was to give people a Griffey earlier on to use and try to silence the ones that consistently leave before September and beg for Griffey. It just backfired

True, but we're probably going to end up with two 99 Mays, two 99 Griffey, two 99 Clemente, a 98 & 99 Mantle, and probably more that I'm missing. Even a 97 Ruth and a 99 Ruth feels superfluous.
I appreciate getting multiple versions of fan favorites (Mantle, Foxx, Griffey, Pedro, etc), but space out the OVRs a bit better. For example, give us a Silver Rookie/Veteran in a very early BR/RS/Event; maybe a low diamond (87-88) to start the year; then a mid-tier (93-95) diamond only for a very, very elite few; then finally the end-game 99s.
My other (related) big group is what they've done to the Sig Series this year. The whole point of the Sig Series was to announce a card as the best and final version of this player. But now we've got new Bruce Suter and a new Willie Stargell that are both far better than their respective SS. That sets a terrible precedent, and now we don't know if we should invest stubs in a card that might be slightly outdated soon, and it fuels rampant and unnecessary speculation (which -- of course -- leads to even more toxicity in the community). I'm already seeing people on Twitter cry about how mad they'll be if we don't get another Randy Johnson. Good grief. The Sig Series label should have shut down that kind of speculation-griping back in April.
At the very least, SDS should have told us back in April that Sig Series no longer means what it used to mean. They explicitly told us several times over the last few years that "Sig Series means you can feel safe investing in this player!" It's not cool that they didn't communicate a pretty huge change in plans.

I'm actually fairly certain the signature series was only that way in 19. Awards cards were better than sig for most players, Milestones are just signatures with the attribute the milestone is based on boosted. It's more of a problem that signature, awards, prime are dead on accurate and they aren't willing to boost those at all. I personally don't have a problem with previously garbage Joe Torre getting a nice card. The series thw card is doesnmt matter

Very possible, though it would have been nice for SDS to mention a change in procedures. If I’m not mistaken, this is the first year that they have released a SS card and then released a better version after that. They got us used to doing it one way for 3 or 4 years and then changed without notice. That’s not cool.
But, i guess that’s just kinda the way SDS does things. They’ve never prioritized communication with the community, and that’s just shocking in the social media era where we all just expect to be able to have a dialogue with any company. I really like Ramone but where is he? Isn’t he the Community Manager or something like that? They need someone to interact with the community and be the liaison between the gamers and the studio. I’ve been playing this game for years and I still don’t even understand how the freakin game works lol.

Yeah I get it. The communication definitely used to be better but thats just how it is with video games these days. Once a game gets a big following, the community becomes toxic, then the devs stop communicating. I've seen it time and time again

Maybe that explains why no one like EA is getting back into Baseball again. They're frightened!
That said, a 'Dik Enberg Oh, my!' to these cards!
