Anyone Using P5 Wood?
-
In their regular rotation?
I like his fastball and slurve, and if you can get the change and cutter going, he's pretty impressive. But I have yet to face him h2h.
Anyone?

With this new content drop, there just isn't room for Wood, he's good for me but not great. I gotta try out cards like Cliff Lee, Burnett, Oswalt etc. Maybe one day I'll circle back to him, but to many options right now

He has a strange release point. I kind of struggle using my wood. I only have him to P 4

Got him to p5 and that was enough use. Put the new shiny cards in and find a new favorite.
Of note: as much of a fit as wainwright gives me, played with his card while SCd and had good stuff. Will see if I still feel that way now that he’s back to a basic 99.

I've faced him quite a bit in the current event and there's something about his release point that his 4 seam gets on top of me quick it seems like. I don't know if it's because I've faced him so many times this year, but I've had much better success facing Randy in the event than Wood.

Good luck using your wood from here on out.

Once guys get to P5 I kind of stop using them. Randy has been at P5 for months now but he really is just a place hold #1 for offline play. Sure I dust him off for the occasional event or ranked but it seems like a waste of pxp. So at this moment my rotation consists of Randy P5, Nolan P4, Greyson P4, and Pedro P3 and then whoever I need pxp for or whatever objective Im going for. It also the slot I tryout pitchers. Looking forward to trying out Weaver, Burnett and Sutton. I will say I liked Wood alot and he could be dominant. On the other hand their would be times were he just could not hit the black or hang some pitches that should have been dots. So to me his control seemed super streaky.

Saw this topic and said P5 is average. I'd like to think I'm 6.5-7 depending on how drunk I am.

Nah. After I hit p5 with him he went to the bench. He’s not bad but his control isn’t great and he hangs some pitches. For a free card though he was good. Just don’t think he’s good enough to be in your starting rotation unless you don’t have the big boys.

Same. Even at p5 the control is suspect. Once I got the Extreme program points for his p5 I moved on.

Tbh he got lit up occasionally. You try to paint the corner and it ends up down the middle. ️
