Ozzie having 99 power...come on, ridiculously stupid......
Yet Gwynn tops out at 90......I mean, shouldn't he have 120 if Ozzie has 99?
Where do you go from here?
-
I agree but I may actually use him over Masyn Winn now on my cardinals team.
And it was against lefties. It was still pretty average against righties.
-
Suddenly, that inevitable 99 Jeter doesn't look so unbelievable anymore...

I get it. I want my Steve Sax Dodgers card with 125 contact from each side and 110 power based on that Smith card....

Wait lol Ozzie Smith has 99 power?

Against Lefties he does.
They seemed to take a lot of liberties with these cards in general but that was the one that jumped out the most.

You know what, if it means a superstar player like Ozzie becomes more usable then who cares? It's a fantasy mode in a fantasy game. If guys who have never even had an AB in the majors can have insane cards then it's hard to get mad about a juiced Ozzie who is a Hall of Famer.

I feel that he should have it against righties though just for that 1985 world series game 5 HR.
Go Crazy Folks! Go Crazy

dont want to talk about 85 lol

Wow. Agrees Oreo, where does it stop?
All cards are usable in Ranked. We get to decide if it is worth using that player.
Players could also be used in events but that would require SDS to go back to having creative parameters for events.

I'm with you. If you are going to juice cards, juice everyone. Too realistic and you will only see the same 8 guys in every lineup. Picking and choosing who to juice is disrespectful to all time greats that didn't hit for power. Lineup diversity has never been better than it has this year imo and today's drop gives a lot more options at each spot

Hopefully we get a Tim Wakefield card that throws 104mph for 12 innings.

I disagree, just make non home run hittters useable just like make finesse pitchers useable...

Right now neither are though.
If people are okay juicing future stars with made up ratings then I am not sure why juicing actual legends would be frowned upon.
Either condemn them all or condemn none of them.
-
At least he was an Hall of Fame player! Infinite more MLB HR's than a lot of the future stars cards, so more real than them. Future stars cards threw all validity out of the game already.

If 28 is infinite. A few of the guys in that set will surpass his career total next year. All of the hitters in that set have more irl power right now than Ozzie ever did

I love Ozzie dude. But he had 28 HRS. Judge has hit twice that many this year. And with the comparison to Gwynn, he had over 100 so he should definitely have more power than Ozzie.
With that said, I don't need any of these attributes to reflect real life. Until you take away juiced Topps, Postseason and Future Stars, might as well have some fun with the legends and make them useable.
I do agree with Oreo, what they should do is make every variety of player useable not just power hitters. Then they can really be realistic with attributes. But that is not the reality of this game.

I don't think they are capable of making contact hitters usable. The only time they were was the first half of 19 when HR/9 turned power hitters homeruns into lineouts and turned contact hitters lineouts into bloopers

It's still under 100 power and only 72 power vs righties.
He is still not going to be anybody's first choice for shortstop on their main squad but it gives those of us who play offline games almost exclusively with our theme teams a reason to use him over a Future Star card that has never had an at bat above AA level yet.
