Catcher is a problem for me every year-- do most of you just go with defense at backstop, or use guys like noodle arm Piazza and pray the other guy doesn't have speed?Also, any recommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks!He was probably the worst card in the game for me, at least relative to what I thought he would be. I was bouncing around to every catcher in the game before biting the bullet and finishing the Mauer collection and I haven’t looked back.

I like the Astros Future Stars card. I am waiting for that Biggio POTM flashback to become attainable. I like his speed.
As for Piazza, I don’t like his swing.
The new FS catcher from the tool box pack has hitting attributes similar to Piazza and he has really good defensive attributes. Haven’t tried him yet though.

I thought it did. I’m not on my console, but now I am bummed if that’s true. AS Contreras has decent speed. Well, thanks for the heads up.

Napoli is an absolute beast. Mauer and believe it or not Gary Carter AR also really good.
Varsho is a good backup with decent speed. Kirk hits everything.
I haven’t tried Napoli yet, but I have heard mostly good things about that card.

@aware_ward13_PSN I just checked a picture of the card online, one of his secondary positions is catcher.

Catcher is always an issue. Usually you have to choose between defense or offense and if by chance they give the player both they make him unusable with like 5 speed. Piazza has been my best bat by far. I like Pudge for the defense. So ive been keeping bith Piazza and Pudge on the roster and sub Pudge later in game for defense.
Mauer for me was just a slight upgrade from Adley but Mauer is not a switch hitter. I'm going to try AS Contreras again. He has good stats, catcher pop time and is not slow. I just could not hit with him in a small sample size. Biggio could be an answer today. Foxx and Schwarber were my guys last year but looks like they are not going to give Schwarber catcher secondary. Now an Adley upgrade would be game changing, same with JT. -

Biggio looks a budget Jackie card. I always love his swing and speed. I’m going to try him at catcher and second. For versatility alone Biggio needs a spot in a lineup. Even if it’s on the bemch.
