Sadly, SDS would probably just go off his low power stats and ignore his power capabilities.
His signature card in 19 had power similar to the top Gwynn cards I believe, so mid 60s
Yeah so solely stat-based. I get trying to be realistic but Diamond Dynasty is a fantasy mode supposed to be fun.
It's not fun to have unusable stars with low power.
So SDS has a choice. Either make high contact low power guys viable, or juice the power (a bit unrealistically) of some of the elite contact stars.
You don't have to go crazy. 80-90 power works. Clemente is one of my highest OPS guys this year.

I would rather them just make those cards more viable. Giving Ichiro and Tony Gwynn 90 power is way too much like 2k giving Shaq and Ben Simmons 90+ three point shot for me

Ichiro had 3 seasons over 10 home runs. The guy just flat out doesn't deserve 80-90 power, regardless of what he "supposedly" did in BP. Also 50-60 power in this game will still drop bombs, its just how this game works.

Fair enough on Ichiro. Just wish they'd make the high contact guys usable.

CAN you hit bombs with those guys? Sure. But in any frequency similar to high power guys? No. Not close.

I don't think Ichiro would hit very well especially now that even common outfielders can get to every ball hit in the gap and make every diving play

I can’t remember if Ichiros swing was glitchy or not but I know this, if I get a good swing on it with Lofton, 60 power is plenty.

Ya never know, with the calendar flipping to July, they'll soon see some of the fan-base switch over to Madden when it drops in August, so they may be saving one really popular new legend to drop somewhere in that window.
In my estimation, Ichiro would draw quite a bit of folks back to the game. I know I'd grind for him in a heartbeat.

I agree. Everything is was too power dependent in this game now.
Regarding 2K, that was the final straw for me and was when I completely stopped playing that game.
