Is Trout no longer worth it.

400K+ and he's down to a 93.
About 4-5 cards rates higher than him. But do they play better than him?
Right now I'm running FOTF Trout in CF and could swap him out for FS Cespedes or FS P-C-A.
Have 450K in stubs. So I could buy him again and run him in CF. Whomever I play in CF is just holding the position until there is a 99 Griffey released.
Just don't know if he's still worth 400K or even more than 100K right now.

If you need to buy him just to feel good I would say no. If you need him for a collection, do what you want. If you get him in a pack, spin in circles. Josh Lowe is sick. (Free) If I didn't get lucky and pull trout, Lowe would have his spot. I just can't swap out trout since I got him in a free pack.
Opinions may vary. It really comes down to who you are comfortable with. I just unlocked devers just to realize I feel better with ramirez. It's the swing that works for me. It's really a question you can answer. God bless America. And baseball. -

Didn’t you sell him because you were hitting very poorly with the card? He had better attributes back then.

93 or a 99 are both good cards
Since when is a 93 card bad

He’s never been worth his cost from an actual usability standpoint. His worth is obviously tied to being the perennial gatekeeper for the live series collection although he’s getting passed quite a bit these days. There are a ton of better OF options if completing the live collection is not your motivation.

If you like Trout on April 1st you will like him now. Maybe even more because he is better against lefties than he was. His price has never been about how well his card plays. That has all to do with LS collections. Once everyone has those done his price will come down along with the others. Maybe not as low as last year, as they have balanced out the economy a bit this year, but it will be lower after Oct., Nov.
Not to mention his overall will keep changing throughout the season.
And keep this in mind. Since his 0-28 slump he is 7-12 .583 avg., 2 dubles 3 HR 6 RBI. And OPS went from .953-1.025. All in 4 games.

All of this. Trout has a great swing and amazing quirks which is why he always plays so well despite his previously odd splits.
I was hoping he'd drop in price slightly (even 50k would be nice) due to being in the 90-93 tier of pulls but doesn't seem to be the case.
EDIT: Just noticed an older twitter post showing XBOX stub sale that just so happened on update day and goes through he 16th. Quite possibly a reason for the prices to remain/increase a bit.

Trout is the best card in the game In my opinion and experience. While other cards may be higher overall or be less expensive Trout is an absolute animal at the plate and his speed plays well in center and on the base paths. I literally have 3 times more home runs with him than I do with any other card,

Agree. He’s 400k because he’s Mike Trout. I do wonder who the LS collection gatekeeper was before him?

im just thinking who else would play cf over him for me. maybe ketel but he plays cf for me. austin hendrick is a option that ive been thinking more about but trout is still extremmely usable for me

You’re not buying Trout.
You’re buying Trout, Glaus, Frank and Randy.

I dont think there was a previous gatekeeper. Pretty sure DD started with The Show '16 and I am not sure if that version had live series cards, I didn't start DD until '17 and he was definitely the gatekeeper then. I have a feeling that next year he might not be the highest rated card at launch.

I got Trout in a post game reward in 2019, none at all in 2020 and pulled him last year when he was down to 85,000 stubs. If I had the stubs, I would buy a bunch of cards instead of one Trout even though I wish I could.
