Playing in a BR game. Went to extras. The opponent paused and used all of his time. It did the usual ask if o wanted to forfeit the game for him. After 15 seconds I pushed the square button multiple times and it wouldn’t forfeit the game for the other player. A minute later it exited out of that screen and had been on the pause screen ever since with his time still at 0.

Could be. Do you ever get disconnected randomly and get the loss?

No. The guy unpaused after like 15 minutes but now there is a frozen screen that says his wireless controller has been disconnected. I was about to head to bed anyway so I guess I’ll check and see what happens on the mornign.

    My theory...

While in the pause menu and less than 30 seconds left, the opponent is disconnecting their controller. That starts a 30 second clock to reconnect. Before that timer hits zero, you get the option to make them forfeit.

Unfortunately, the coding is probably still waiting for their controller to reconnect and it puts the game in a loop so to speak where there is a condition conflict, so it hangs.

Likely discovered by accident and is being exploited by a select few.

I doubt it. I was just wondering if that is what happened while OP's opponent was paused.

This happened to me last night, wait for the timer to go to 0. After the forfeit doesn’t work and you are on the paused screen with 0 time and 3:15 of your own time, go to your bullpen warm someone up and then put him in the game. Then turn off your controller, and turn it back on. Put me right back into the game with my new relief pitcher. Gave him the loss because he probably walked away…. Loser. Hope this helps someone in the future.

Disconnecting one’s controller has been a freeze off exploit all year. Has cost me a few games myself. Sent in a few reports with videos, but never heard back. Hopefully they fix it for 23.

Good to know, but how do you turn off the controller?

Good to know, but how do you turn off the controller?

Easy on Xbox. Take out the battery.

For PS, you can either disconnect the USB cord if plugged in, or if wireless, just walk out of the room with the controller.

TBH, about 6-12 lines of code could fix this issue.
