Trea Turner

Trea’s Finest last year was arguably my favorite card of the year. We’ll eventually get a 99 for him, but as others have said too soon since even his AS card last year was pretty excellent. Would love to see him get the POTM though as don’t want a pitcher or 1B for sure.

They were so quick to downgrade him, meanwhile… some other guy visited the studio, donated some jerseys, got his Real Player card and boom… goes up to diamond with the next upgrade. Lmao
I'll take it....I copped him at about 20k earlier this week.....didn't think i'd ever see him get that low.
-
I think Mookie goes to high diamond this next update and Trea probably the update after that.

Hot take but Trea ruined the game just as much as Degrom/Cabrera did last year

Trea was pretty OP. His Live series was nuts, AS card even nuttier but I don't think its quite on the DeGrom/Cabrera level.
Outlier in general is just a problem. I also think Parallel levels actually changing a pitchers pitch speeds is kind of game breaking. Bad enough to face 99 Randy....but at a few P levels he throws nothing but 102 every pitch for 8 innings.
-
That 99 Turner from last year was a glitch top 5 card easily last year and this year whenever/IF he comes out with his live series quirks .

I just don't like it where you are at a disadvantage for not using a certain player. With pitchers you will obviously have that happen but arguably the best 2 position players in the game last year were 99 Trea and 98 Trea. With almost all other position players you can mix and match to find the guys you like. If your opponent had Trea in the lineup and you didn't you already lost

Disagree. You had to have some skill to be good with trea. Anyone and everyone found success using Degrom and Cabrera. Especially Cabrera his release was literally a glitch.

See I kind of disagree with this. Maybe its because I'm always slow to get the new top players even the TA ones because I find grinding tedious and won't do exchanges so usually my team is outclassed on paper compared to my opponents. (For what its worth, I tend to sit between 600-800s in ranking).
The bigger issue (IMO) is secondary positions....I mean I like flexibility but why does Trea Turner have 3B/CF? He's never played a single out of 3B in his MLB career and hasn't play CF since 2016. Most people played Trea in CF because lower fielding is kind of irrelevant with his speed and his meh arm in CF seems to be ignored by a lot of people. Personally I like having stronger arms in the OF so I couldn't justify using him there...I had him at 2B.

I mean he did say hot take. That being said, I hope we don’t see a single outlier DeGrom or Cabrera the whole year especially a free easy to acquire one .

Tbh if Cabrera's delivery wasn't so buggy he would have been fine anyway. Outlier sinkers are generally worse than regular sinkers. No one ever complains about Britton or Walter Johnson being OP. Cabrera was good because he had the 19-20 Orel Hershiser warped release
-
What made Cabrera, Degrom, and Trea so glitchy? I didn’t play MLB last year so I’m curious

Yeah and seeing as Sinkers aren’t as OP as when that Cabrera came out he probably won’t be as a menace as he was in that game with a different release .

Idk. Trea bailed out bad swings better than any card in the game. It was either a HR or a bloop single and you have 99 speed on the base paths. He also has pretty much every single one of the good active quirks, which make far more of a difference than they should

Trea good swing, max contact, active quirks, 99 speed . DeGrom outlier fastball with near max per 9s . Cabrera outlier sinker , sinkers being OP that year , glitchy release point .

Adding to this, pinpoint was more forgiving last year, so Cabrera and Degrom were dotting all day

Im likely in the minority here but I NEVER had an issue smacking around Cabrera, even when he first came out last year. Generally my lineup is heavy lefty with the others being S so that could have been it.....but I think he was severely overrated by the community who just didn't have the hand eye coordination.

If he just keeps his hitting streak going for... Oh... Another 2 months, I'll just keep using the Supercharged version.

He has 3B and CF for the same reason Lindor has 2B and 3B despite not ever playing at out in bigs there

Turner will get bumped in the next update. Not as much as people probably want though. It never fails, everybody wants their favorite players to be upgraded faster than they are downgraded.
As far as returning Turner to where he started?
His current batting average, while still very good, is the lowest it's been since 2019
His current HR% rate is 2 points lower than last year and the lowest it's been since his rookie year
His ISO is the lowest it has been since 2018
His Strikeout % is up slightly this year
His Walk % is higher and it appears that Disc is the one stat that has been boosted in the last two updates. He will get boosted but I don't see him going back to 90
