Has The Sinker Completely Ruined This Game For Anyone Else?

They fixed the sinkers. You can’t throw dots with them when throwing them high consistently like you could in years past. Just don’t swing at the high ones, He’ll throw a ton of balls doing that.

Sinkers are part of the reason I stopped playing lol. Makes it completely unfun to play.
So you don’t play the game but you follow & post on it’s forum regularly? That is so weird.

I would not have a problem with the sinker, if all it did was sink. Upon release the ball goes up first, then it sinks. Idk how the good players can “see” that. Sliders I can see. Change ups I can see. Curveballs I can see. Fastballs I can see very well. I just can’t see the sinker at all!

You only get to call your 2 seam a sinker if you throw it and it has a significant amount of downward movement. Most people throwing a 2 seam get arm side movement with a little vertical drop but not enough to take the ball out of the batters swing path. If you can throw a 2 seam and get it to really drop vertically with some arm side action your on to something that will miss bats and get you weak contact ground balls. Not all 2 seams are built the same.

The only good advice I can give you on them is to use strike zone view. The sinkers on same handed match ups (right vs right or left verses left) will have to come back to the zone a little bit out of the hand to end up in the zone.
Go into custom practice and work on picking it up from the hand. It will at least help make sure you aren't swinging at ones out of the zone.
The artificial rise out of the hand is to allow the pitch recognition. We have no depth perception when hitting in a view behind the hitter. The caviat here, is those sinkers that go up in the zone should not hump from the hand and also flatten out.
There's a reason 4 seam fastballs up work, and sinkers don't. An elevated Sinker is not spinning the same way a four seam does. So up in the zone the pitcher has lost some spin rate and it will only break down slightly. It doesn't ride like a 4 seam and is why sinkers up get crushed more.
And to suggest the PAR penalty has done anything is foolish. There's already several pitchers in the game who can dot their sinkers up, just wait till the 99s start rolling in.

Bad servers plus 97+ mph sinkers are unhittable

Literally seconds ago, while watching a White Sox game from last week, the announcer goes "Strike three called! He stuck the sinker in the top inside corner!"
Obviously it must have been a lie because that never happens in real life... At least as far as some people are concerned.

You can certainly be fooled by a high sinker in real life it just doesn't function properly in the game and that is undeniable

True but they are essentially the same pitch. Typically held the same. They may finish different but they start the same, which this game fails at representing.
Signed,
Solid D1 pitcher that threw all 2-seam/sinkers...never 4 seam -

You can throw a fastball up in the zone that comes back into the zone but it still doesn't come out of the hand like an offspeed pitch.
