I’ve played about 10 mini season games and dozens of event games with the POTM players.

I’m still 2.5 PXP player grinds away from Dawson, then I gotta get 500 PXP with him to get Rizzo?

It’s straight up not worth it.

Would it be smart to “punt” on the monthly awards and just sell them / but cover athlete / Takashi cards!?

I rented all the cards and finished way faster. As soon as I got the 4 final cards I got to resell the 4 I bought and turned a small profit. I never had to do the Dawson mission because I had all the POTM missions. Pitchers knock it out quick.

Maybe I misunderstood. If I don’t need Dawson because I can complete all the POTM, then I could actually finish it tonight lol.

For some reason I thought I had to do both.

If you do the program without buying any of the POTM cards (IE you only use the 5 you unlock through the path) then yes, you have to do Dawson. For May I need to save stubs and buy a few extra players to speed up the stage 2 grind because getting PXP for hitters with just one guy in the lineup for a while was brutal.

Yea, this^^^^ it's totally worth it to rent the extras, that's why they have the optional collection. It's basically paying for 15 points. DONT DO IT!!!! Just use the guys you need then sell them as soon as you get the Unsellable ones at the end. I waited to sell until I was completely done with the program.

I get your point OP. It is a grueling grind (not renting cards) to get Dawson to get a 92 Rizzo and then you only get 10K XP on top of that. I did it but not sure it was worth it.

It’ll be worth it for when the big collections drop

Completely understand and that's why I finished it. The XP wasn't equal to the grind I guess is what I'm saying.

Did you start late? I finished it last week and that was just playing Event games.

Maybe someone can clue me in. I’m 1 point shy of getting Dawson. Unless I do the collection lock in I can’t get him. Am I missing something?

    Collect 5?

    There are two Collections.

One to Collect 5 POTM players and one to Collect all 9.

    The 9 one is optional.

The 10k XP was the biggest draw back to me. Perez can be done in a couple of hours and nets you 15k.

This is the quickest and most efficient way of doing the mission. The fact that it is the best way to do the mission and that the alternative is a ridiculously long grind, getting PXP with players as they trickle feed them to you, is the programs biggest negative.

I could be wrong but I think that they are going to see that the level of engagement in the POTM missions will drop drastically. I think that they grossly underestimate how long it takes us mere mortals to reach the PXP target with hitters through normal play.

I didnt buy any extras and kinda enjoyed taking a little longer. Yeah Dawson was 10X more valuable for me than Rizzo, but still had fun completing the program.
