Happens every year -upon release players complain about there is too much hitting - then they patch and kill the hitting ....cant understand why they cant find an in-between....this year is horrible makes the game not fun at all

Hitting has been dead since patch 1.06 in June of 2016.
Ironically, I believe “stick skills” do reign supreme, but in making it so it has made hitting way too difficult for most people.
There are those notable and frequent occurrences of jammed hits falling for hits. But they have to put those in because—and I know people hate hearing this—that is baseball. The outer PCI and constant foul balls are also annoying.
I say all that to say: I’m not good at this game. I benefit from bloop hits and outer PCI foul offs because I can’t hit a lot of perfects. BUT, I hit a lot of close-to-perfects. You know those just an eyelash from middle, perfect timing green, and not quite center PCI but pretty darn close? They nerfed the heck out of those. Jammed, super late, way off the PCI swings go for hits more often than near perfects. And that’s killing the game.
Even perfects aren’t, well, perfect. But the goons can get those swings frequently enough to still win 98% of their games, but even their averages are down and have been for several years.
I liked pre-June 2016 hitting because average players like myself could still score.

Its a shame because its allot of fun usually - lately its been painful - I am looking forward to the POTM program though.

I think it's just low overalls early game. I think when you start seeing pitchers with higher h/9's you will see more missed swings. New game and new players they tend to ease people into the game at first. But alot of complaints about foul offs so could be something they didn't anticipate, or it is exactly what they wanted. I would give it another month to see where it's headed before coming to conclusion it is broke. Jmo

I came here to make the same post! Hitting has become so freaking bad in RS for the last 4 or 5 days now I guess whenever last patch went in. I cannot even play this game anymore

Try mixing up your pci start point or where you hold your thumb….take some bp and try different camera angles….some angles are better for certain delivery points….I don’t think it’s the game or the patch.

Great point!!! I changed my camera view from strike zone which i've used mostly past 4 or 5 years when game launched and just amazing difference!!

Yeah I find the sweet spot and lose it all the time.
I know I'm struggling I'm swinging at everything , cant pick up pitches and that's all on me......what I do find annoying is the PCI jumps all over the place and when I do make solid contact its not going anywhere like it was for the first few weeks of release.

I alternate between zoom, 15 and 16. If glare from sun or nighlights i will switch when time comes game dependant.

I don't think anyone was whining about too much hitting this year. If anything the community was complaining about PP lineouts and cheese all bloop hits

I don't think anyone was whining about too much hitting this year. If anything the community was complaining about PP lineouts and cheese all bloop hits
I think once a good amount of complaints about hitting start they screw with the hitting and it kills it until they make another adjustment - happened last year I think or the year before.
