Home runs with contact swing
-
The contact swing is still cheating for hitting home runs.
I've hit a lot of home runs on my contact swing and even today I hit a 456-feet home run with a contact swing.
When this happens, I can't help but doubt the necessity of the power swing.
The power swing causes a wasted swing and is more disadvantageous than the contact swing when it comes to home runs which is nonsense. -
I use the contact swing to avoid striking out in two strikes. But I was a bit embarrassed to see a lot of home runs coming out of a defensive swing just to avoid strikeouts. If you are aiming for a specific course and pitch, the contact swing is much better for home runs than the power swing.
I'm not quite sure why the power swing exists. -
I watch a lot of real MLB games and I"ve seen numerous times where guys look like they're just trying to touch the ball instead of swinging for the fences and it goes over the fence. That happens a lot more often than you might think.

I was watching a White Sox game the other day I saw Tim Anderson hit a home run and it looked like he was just barely swinging the bat. He just took a casual swing at the ball and there it went. So most of these people who are always complaining and whining are unaware of the game of baseball.
There's literally nobody here that actually plays the game on a professional level. It's just a bunch of people who are comparing every action to what they think happened in the video game at some time in the past. It's tiring to read

Can you online DD guys stop it already...Si%T happens in real baseball, yes you can get homeruns with contact swings, its less of a chance but you can. Same with getting a perfect perfect line out, in real baseball Vladdy or Judge could hit a 110mph exit velo right at someone and its an out, maybe you guys are getting confused with launch angles?

No problem with those screamers right in the 1B Glove!
Just yesterday i hit a perfect 105mph exit velocity blooper to the CF not even close to the warning track -

Maybe I've watched more baseball games than you and maybe I've been playing The Show for much longer than you. I'm not saying you should never hit a home run with a contact swing. But it's hitting more home runs than the power swing.
In an actual baseball game, how many more do you think the number of home runs you get when you barely swing is likely to come out than you swing with your intentions?
First of all, I recommend that you read the article with attention first before sarcastic about other people's opinions or maybe you're just an ignorant guy. -

Yes you can surely get home runs with contact swings.
I'm not saying you shouldn't hit a home run with your contact swing. I'm just raising the issue because I get more home runs on my contact swing than power swing. I hope you read this part straight. -
Hey guys,
I'm just saying that the contact swing has a greater advantage in hitting a home run than the power swing.
I'm not saying that you should never hit a home run with the contact swing. -
The biggest problem with this game is that the power swing is NO LONGER powerful and the contact swing is TOO powerful.
Even with a perfect power swing, there are many times I hit an ordinary flyball that can't even get near the warning track while I can hit countless home runs with a contact swing.
Is there any reason to separate the three types of swings? It's nonsense. -
i myself ALWAYS ONLY use Power Swing. Yes it does make the PCI smaller & your swing slightly slower & harder to time your swing on pitches. However I have seen & felt balls I hit via power swing are hit much harder. It makes HR's more frequently occurring for me & as well my grounders are laser shots which more times then not get past between infielders, even within a shift or they diving for it. Also when the do dive, most times the ball was hit so hard that it deflects off their glove & rolls away from them enough that I can still beat out a play at 1B with any player having at least 35 to 40 speed. Power swings for me work better & gives me more results. Contact swings most for me I see result in a weak grounder, pop up or shallow fly ball for easy outs most of the time. Normal swings are way too random & unpredictable. Even on Online play I always use power swing which helps me offset a pitcher that has a very high 90's plus H/9 & HR/9. The extra added Exit Velo on balls hit via Power swings does help me a lot & gives me more consistent success than using Contact or even Normal swings.

With 2 strikes against a 98 mph fastball making solid contact should result in a long drive - the pitcher is providing the power there.
-
Of course contact swing is going to hit more homeruns than power swing. Mainly because no one uses power swing. If you used power swing as much as you used contact swing you'd probably hit more home runs

You are assuming Contact gives more HRs only because you use Contact & feel it does. But Contact does not provide the same Exit Velo. Contact only ensures the ball will be put into play which can result either into a Hit, HR or more times then not just an out. Power Swings provide more HR success & frequency as long as timed well enough & PCI was placed well enough. Does not have to be perfect each time, just within close to perfect. I am telling you from my own personal Experience that Power Swings provides for me more HRs and gappers resulting in Doubles & laser bullet shot hit grounders that go by too quickly for infeilders to get to in time.

Here's the thing we don't know the actual numbers but lets look at the knew Joc Pederson Card. It has 115 power vs lefties
Let's also assume that a contact swing reduces the power attribute by 25%. That would reduce Joc to 86 power vs lefties, still more than enough to hit a HR.Not everyone becomes Ozzie Smith at the plate just because they are contact swinging.

Okay but with your silly DD math/mind what about chance? or exit velocity, or launch angles..any of these would drastically influence the outcome of a home run..no?...Or do you want a game based on exact outcomes?...a game based on super exact predictably?.

So u guys all use contact swing not normal

I use contact swing when I'm 0-2 , 1-2 and sometimes 3-2. If pitchers still hit I'd use it all the time with them.
