I just read the patch notes and I gotta say looking at the exact words they used.. they're not confirming anything. All they said is "fixed a bug that prevents matchmaking while 120Hz output is enabled". That could mean they just reverted to 60Hz. Let's see what actually happens.

I read the patch notes. It doesn’t necessarily say you can play in 120hz, it says fixed an issue while match making while having 120hz enabled. Can we get some clarification please from a dev????

Nah I think 120 hz will work. I mean it’s already enabled for offline play so I don’t see why they would have to revert back to 60 hz being that Xbox plays online at 120 hz. I think the issue was just as they said, the bug was with matchmaking online with 120 hz mode on not necessarily playing at 120 hz.

Surely with the community knowing what we know, they’re allowing PS to play at 120 online
If not and you’re right, that would just be a worthless update, surely they’re not THAT tone deaf

My complaint with this forum from a sds standpoint is why can’t we get clarification on these types of issues? This should be so cut and dry and it’s not for some reason.

I thought the same thing when I read it. Could have just fixed some coding where we don't have to turn off 120hz from the console.
