RE: Matchmaking issues, and 120hz output.

Can confirm 120 hz does work for online play on PS5! It seems it was likely just a match matching bug like originally stated.

    RE: Today's 120hz change for a dummy

Not sure if it’s some glitch or if SDS is purposely blocking 120 hz for online play on ps5. It would be terrible if it’s the latter seeing that people on the series x and s have been able to play with 120 hz mode on since mlb 21. How can Sony allow its own game to run better on an opposing console? 🤦‍♂️

It does 2160 at 60 on all my other games I believe, is there something I can do to put mlb at 60? I know that before the update on 4/26 it was running at 2160 so I don’t know what changed

Turn off 120 hz and you should be able to play on 4k. Again, it could be that your monitor can’t output 4k at 120 hz so it changes the resolution to 1080p to accommodate 120 hz.

Check if you got 120 hz mode on automatic.

Yeah but my issue isn’t frame rate or Hz output. It’s the actual resolution; it switches from 4K/2160p to 1080p as soon as the game launches then back once the game is closed. It’s not online games only, it’s the entire game

Depending on your monitor it may be unable to do 4k at 120 hz through hdmi. That’s the issue with my monitor. I have the gigabyte m27q, it’s able to do 1440p at 170 hz through the display port but only 4k (downscaled to 1440p) at 60 hz or 1080p at 144 hz through hdmi.

Anyone playing with 120 Hz and VRR enabled on ps5? I heard for other games with performance mode on, it unlocks the frame rate so you can get above 60 fps. Wondering if that’s the same for mlb?

I still am on my G7 28inch. I still have incredible speed off and online. Hdr still on too. Loving this monitor. Everyone reporting a reversion back to the slower, increased input lag of how it was over a week ago before the change but i am still feeling the upgrade.

They have no clue what they’re talking about flat earthers

I mean I think he just confirmed my suspicion. The reason some people are noticing a change and some are not is because they have VRR on which uncaps the frame rate allowing them to get above 60 fps. I believe this latest patch reverted the cap back to 60 fps whereas the patch before unlocked the frame rate without a need to have VRR on hence why people feel like the responsiveness seem nerfed.

RE: Having problems hitting on Legend/online

Trying turning pitch speed sliders all the way up and grind BP on legend. Like one of the post said above, focus on short movements with your pci. It’s gonna be super difficult but the drill here is speeding up your reaction time. A tip that can help is turning on the outer pci while keeping the inner off. It’ll look like your pci is the size of playing on rookie. Also use kontrolfreeks if you aren’t already.

No it will be 120hz if xcrap gets it I'm sure ps5 will

That’s what I’m saying! We already know the ps5 is capable of running the game at 120 hz because it works offline so I don’t think it’s a matter of VRR or hardware limits. Plus it’s already been confirmed from multiple ppl on Xbox that they play online at 120 hz. I truly believe the issue was just a matchmaking bug.

What does this mean for PS4 users ..won't they be completely overmatched?

This is why I don’t believe PS5 users will play at 120hz online, unless they allow old gen users to matchmake against old gen only

Xbox already has this advantage so I don’t see why they wouldn’t allow ps5 the same. 🤷‍♂️

We assume that but they adamantly say the game is capped at 60hz regardless of platform. Maybe Xbox has some type of upscaling but I have no clue. I’m not technical like that.

Is it capped at 60 hz or 60 fps? There’s a difference. Also we know the game can run at 120 hz on ps5 because it works offline.
