No lead is safe in baseball. Why would a dev think it’s a good idea to allow steals to go uncontested when a player is winning 5-0? It makes no sense. You can basically get a man on and steal for free. No one will cover 2nd or 3rd.

If a major league player tried to steal with a 5 run lead, he would take one in his ear hole his next at bat. I know this doesn't answer your question, but maybe that was the thinking. I can't steal anyway, so I've never tried it with a big lead.

He’s talking about how the 1B doesn’t hold the runner on while winning by a lot. Which happens in real games all the time, and players take the extra base also, but it’s not considered a stolen base, it’s defensive indifference.

Not an argument, just commenting on those "unwritten rules" that baseball has. A few weeks ago, benches almost cleared because someone dropped a bunt with a big lead.

If you were referring to the Giants game where Wilmer Flores (I think) laid down a bunt, the Giants played it cool and said we're doing what we can to win the series. Even though I don't recall hearing that before, I think that's a good tactic. I don't think everyone will be so quick to adopt it, but maybe they should.

That's the one, and I have no problem with trying to score as many runs as possible, regardless of the score. They are called "unwritten rules" for a reason. You don't have to follow them.
