Is this your first time buying the digital deluxe? This has quite literally happened every single year since they started doing packs for ordering MVP/Digital deluxe

I can see both sides of the argument on this one but it does not really bother me. Weren't these cards sellable anyway, so people could already get them if they wanted them.

Releasing a Program for the Cover Athlete cards less than a month after the game's release is one of the dirtiest moves I've ever experienced by a developer. These cards were sold as exclusives for the Digital Deluxe Edition buyers only. People, including myself, paid real money to obtain these cards along with the Takashi Okazaki series cards. You guys advertised these two sets as exclusives for those editions only. Making the cards available for free three weeks later is not exclusive. I am not opposed to this type of content being released for free 3-6 months into the game cycle so that those who paid you more for the game with real-world money get something in return. This is a digital spit in the face to loyal and/or new gamers that gave you more money for your development efforts than everyone else. I will continue to play The Show every year, however, I will NEVER buy a special edition again because it's only special for 3 weeks.

You know people pay REAL-WORLD money for game pass right?

Divide what you pay for Game Pass with the number of games available and thats what you paid for MLB 22.

I have no dog in the gamepass fight but like 95% of the games available on gamepass are 5 years old or more. The way I see it they get the old games for free and pay for the new ones

Isn’t this the same thing that happened with the 42 Series cards last year?

And the same thing that happened with the legends pack in 2020.

And the same thing that happened with the Legend/Flashback Choice pack in 2019.

So I shouldn’t get cards that will be useless in a month because I chose to get more bang for my buck?. You got a 4 day head start, thats what you pay for, cards haven’t been exclusive in this game for a long time, the head start is though. I can see you being upset over spending extra to get a head start on possibly the worst first inning program of all time, but being upset over them giving away a couple of 88’s to people who didn’t get the head start is a bit much.

Let me guess, you “invested” in these cards thinking they would be 60k like the pre-order 42 from last year?

As a fellow digital deluxe purchaser, I say kudos to SDS for attempting to make Mauer slightly more obtainable.

Starting to get more launch releases but yea there are older games on there, thankfully though they are fun old games.

This was inevitable, they always give everyone a chance to get every card in the game. This reaction though.....

Sorry, I’m not done mocking you yet. You got the stupid cover athlete and anime cards. What else do you want?? Imagine being so unhappy in life that you have to puff up your own junk by telling yourself you have “exclusive” cards in this game lol. And by “exclusive” I mean “available to literally anyone who managed to scrape together 25k stubs.” The preorder gets you 30k stubs, two diamond cards, yearlong double dailies, and a 4-day head start. I am shocked that you need more than that, but I am even MORE shocked that what you need is “exclusivity” on a stupid 88 OVR. Good lord. I’m done.

Players pay extra for the 4 days early release lets be honest here ....the cards are just extra

exactly mate - this is what OP doesn't understand - he paid early access aka to be a beta tester for a few days - paying for the privilege of playing the game 4 days early - this is a complete joke in itself - many of us saw this and stayed 20 feet back - just buy the base level game they don't deserve bonus money for a broken product

No card is available only to those who pay for it. SDS doesn't operate that way. Also, any card released at launch is almost guaranteed to be obsolete in a month. Finally, I think a lot of people buy those editions more for early access than for "special" cards (though I might be wrong). That's why I did.

As someone that bought the digital deluxe, this is a horrible take. The more free cards SDS puts out, the better. I’m not going to complain about being able to get a 96 Mauer cheaper that’ll be irrelevant when his 99 is released anyways.

Yeah this is definitely ya horrible take...you paid "good money" to get one card that non-preorder guys had to use stubs for. So what. You got a free one and technically a head start on the collection. Im glad they are, especially since none of those cards will be relevant by June anyway (if not sooner)

yep. You are pre ordering for a jump start on gameplay and a few cards.....the others would have to buy the cards themselves whereas preorders hold on to 12-20k stubs for other use

Those of us who preordered still have the advantage of one extra card from the series so the benefit still holds true. All things being equal we’re at the exact same point as before. Not sure what there is to complain about. I went digital deluxe on all three systems so I’ve had Miggy, Tatis, and Ohtani from day one and I still see this as a total win.
